University of Tennessee (UTHSC) Memphis Fall 2018

Anyone apply to UT Memphis for Fall 2018? A lady there told me on Friday that they were in the midst of scheduling interviews. I haven't been contacted and am starting to get stressed...although of course I realize it's now the weekend.

This is a second career for me and I have a decent GPA (3.3) but nothing spectacular. Plus it's like 17 years old... I did get A's in my prereqs, except statistics which I am taking currently. Anyway, I'd love to hear from anyone else who's applied or is in school there! I've applied to University of Memphis as well. That application makes me even more nervous because they don't ask for anything except transcripts. I feel I have a better shot at UT because I have a pretty unique story and reasoning for becoming a nurse, plus what I hope are strong recommendations.

I didn't that's why I'm really hoping I get in. I have a pretty strong gpa and teas score but I'm still stressing. I have a friend still waiting to hear back too. She also applied to UM.

I'm sure if you have a great GPA you're set. My undergrad GPA is definitely the weakest part of my application and unfortunately seems to be the most important thing. Although I imagine the 3 science pre reqs are pretty crucial too. Anyway, the lady I emailed with on Friday said if I'm invited for an interview they would be in contact within 2-3 weeks. Which to me is super long to wait! Patience is not my strong suit. Ha. She said interviews are conducted over the month of February and decisions wouldn't be till later on in March. Ahhhhh

Oh so 2-3 weeks from the day she emailed you? Or from the due date? When I talked to Helen Lu last week she said if I'm invited for an interview to expect a call any day.

UPDATE! I called up there today and talked to a nice person named Jasmine. She is the person who actually calls the interviewees. I was just trying to find out if they'd called everybody yet since I still hadn't heard anything. She was nice enough to tell me that she had my name on her list to call this week and went ahead and scheduled the interview for me! SO RELIEVED!

Hi everyone! I just saw this. Has anyone else been invited for an interview yet? I am planning on calling tomorrow. Also, does anyone mind sharing their stats? I am a little worried bacause my

Cumulative GPA is a 3.2

Pre-req is 3.8 and

Science is 3.9

And I scored and 89.7 on the TEAS. I have been working as aCNA for over a year, and volunteer in a Trauma Unit.

I have had issues with getting my transcripts to NursinCAS and Helen has tried to help with that, but no word yet. It will be heartbreaking if it boils down to that.

That's so frustrating about your transcripts. I also had some issues with one of my transcripts not appearing though I got an email from nursing CAS saying it had been received. I had to resend and it FINALLY went through. They also took forever to verify my fall 2017 transcript for microbiology after the grade came through. That didn't happen till after the deadline and I was concerned about that. Anyway, my stats are in the original post and we are pretty close! She definitely acted like there was a whole list she had yet to call for interviews. Best of luck!

Ugh I called yesterday and jasmine told me I'd have to wait around 2 weeks because they're still calling. I'm so stressed! My GPA is around 3.8 and got 79% on the TEAS.
