Anyone starting USI's PMHNP program Fall 2019?

Also reaching out to current or previous USI NP students for advice and networking

Cheers,

I believe that some of the best advice would be to "pre read" Sadock, and Stahl along with getting access to something like Boardvitals.com and working through as many videos and quizzes as possible. In addition, www.khanacademy.org has excellent resources as does www.boardvitals.com. The stronger base you can enter with the more manageable time you will have. Also be aware that you will probably need to not work during your final semester over Summer since this will be four days per week in clinical. In addition, it is never to early to start working on clinical sites.

Hello ,

I got  accepted into USI PMHNP track.  Wanted to get some insight on the program.  If you don't mind to share:). Sorry to bother and TIA.

Anyone starting fall 2020 post master PMHNP at USI? Let's connect and help each other

Hello,

Just wanted to ask you how do you like USI PMHNP track.  I got accepted into the program for this fall.

Thanks

Hi everyone! I was just accepted to the pmhnp program at USI starting fall of 2022!! I’m so thankful for all of these previous comments with such great information on preparing for this program. I’m located in Indiana and I’m most worried about finding a clinical placement in my area. I’ve started looking up psychiatric hospitals and outpatient centers, and I plan on preparing a really nice and professional CV and introduction and networking soon! Any advice or leads on preceptors would be greatly appreciated!

For those that went to USI MSN. Do they have already recorded lectures posted for the courses?

Hi All,

I realize I'm a little late to this thread but I wanted to know more about this program. Do they offer a psych NP post masters certificate? I have my CNM and I am trying to find an affordable program. I am also based in CA so not sure if I am allowed to join this school and also if there will be increased out of state costs. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I am starting USI PMC PMHNP in fall. Anyone here wants to connect? Seeking advice on how to stay on top with exams? They require 83% to pass, which is a very high standard compared to most schools.

This school is very stressful! Their exams are hard and that 83% average on exams requirement is making it more stressful. I'm passing my classes but it requires me to put in alooot of effort.  I wish I had went with a different school.

Hi ThyLady, are you currently in the program or you finished? What courses are you taking now? I am taking Psychopharm and PMHNP Clinical I in fall. Is it doable with 2 courses?

Hi ThyLady2025, I want to ask if you are still at USI PMHNP program. As mentioned, I am starting the program in Fall this year. I want to ask if you can share meaningful advise on how to be successful in this program? I know my fall semester will be especially challenging since I will be taking 2 courses + clinicals + working at the same time.

I'm taking my specialty courses in the fall as well. I would say study the lecture videos that are posted , read the book and do tons of practice questions to maybe get an A on an exam. Koz their exams are hard and u need to know the material really well just to pass with that 83 that they want. Hopefully the psych courses won't be too bad because I really enjoy psych material and work with psych patients daily at my full time in patient psych job. Fingers cross for the fall!

Thank you, ThyLady. It looks like we will be classmates in Fall. How exciting! Just curious, in which state are you from? I am from California.
