University of South Alabama FNP

I am applying to USA's FNP program for this fall. I would love to hear from someone who is currently attending or who has recently graduated from this program. Did you have trouble finding clinical preceptors? Are the professors available if you have questions or concerns? How often do you have to visit campus? Overall, are you satisfied with the education you are receiving?

Thanks

Hope that helps =)

Acestudent21, did you get the email from USA counselor today regarding them mailing the decision letters tomorrow?

What are your stats if you don't mind me asking?

Hola, I did get the email. He did state that some people would not be accepted; however, 80+ more were accepted. That means chances are better. As for me I completed a Bachelor's in Biology (with the lpn program simultaneously my last yr). Never worked as an lpn, because I started an Accelerated BSN program 6 months later. I graduated Magna cum laude; however lack of experience is not working in my favor. Just graduated last month, and take boards 2mrw. What about you? Did you apply for the bsn-dnp or msn-dnp option?

I was relieved to see that the Deans were accepting 80+ applicants but then I didn't understand what that meant. Are those with clinical experience in a better position compared to those with little clinical experience? Wow. Congrats on graduating with magna cum laude. Is that equivalent to a 3.8 or higher at your institution?

I applied for the BSN-DNP. Good luck taking your boards tomorrow.

Hey kenyo,

I have a 3.83 GPA. I'm wrapping up my last term of nursing school by the end of spring term. Greg contacted me to email him my license but I did email me telling him that I don't have a license. If that's the only reason why I get denied, I would definitely appeal.

How about you? What are you stats? Which program are you applying? Have you applied anywhere else?

In a private email, Greg said there were 250+ applications. :crying2:

I graduated with honors as well GPA not quite as high as yours though. I would not worry to much about not having a license yet last year there was a person admitted to the BSN/DNP that had not graduated yet. I believe they accepted 70+ people last year so if they accepted 80+ people beyond what they accepted last year that would be 150-160 people so that it pretty good.

Wow! That many people got in last year. How did you know so much about last year's stats? Are you a new applicant? I emailed Greg but he never gave out last year's profile in his email.

Just PM'd you.

Thanks. I wish everyone good luck as we wait to hear from USA.

Hi,

what semester did you all apply for? I applied for summer for NP, but they did not get all my transcripts in time, and send me e-mail that they got enough people for summer semester and that I reapply for the next semester, which I did. I called the admissions and they said I should hear from nursing department sometimes in the May. Should I call Nursing dep?
