Anyone out there apply for the dual FNP/ACNP Fall 2018 semester?

After the recent changes made at my current school, I have decided to transfer. I don't like the direction my school is headed and they've made some changes that have drastically changed the program.

Even though I can only transfer 9 credits and it's going to set me back on graduation time, I have decided to transfer to USA. I really wanted dual certification so I can work in the ER when I'm done with school. This program will give me over 1,000 clinical hours and I feel comfortable that I'll be properly educated/trained by the time I graduate.

I'm applying for the MSN program, but is anyone doing either the MSN or DNP dual program? We're all on the same trajectory for our courses, except the DNPs go on to finish the extra courses after we're done with the MSN portion.

I would love to connect with some fellow future students. :) We had a great FB group for my former school, so I'd love to start a FB group for those of us beginning in the Fall once we know we're in.

Yes, the time is dragging by!

You aren't kidding! And if that 8 week time frame is accurate, I'm going to be in Mexico spending my vacation wondering whats in the mailbox at home.

I got a notice today that they received my FASFA information and I had a student JAG number in that email. With that email I registered for a PAWS account. Can everyone do this? Does this mean I got in??

-thanks

Hoping that's a good sign :) I found my JAG ID in my FAFSA confirmation e-mail from USA as well. Was able to log in to PAWS. Cannot set up JAG mail, though. Fingers crossed!!!

They said we wouldn't get a notification until 8 weeks after the deadline. That would be April 26th. Time is dragging by...

I know, seems like forever, I also applied to the Fall 2018 Dual ACNP/FNP program. Does anyone know how competitive this program is for acceptance? I have about a 3.98 GPA but I have worked on a step-down/cardiac unit for the last two years so I have no ICU or ED experience. It sounds like they will still consider applicants without experience, but I would just have to take an extra course. Does anyone have any sense or experience on how highly they rate GPA vs ICU/ED experience? This month can not pass quick enough!

23 more days until we can reasonably expect to receive our letters :) I wish I had the answer about GPA vs. experience, but you do have an excellent GPA, so hopefully you'll get in. :)

I received my acceptance email today!!!!!!

I was accepted! Does anyone have insight about how the professors are the classes are in regards to difficulty?

I received my acceptance today, too :D

I guess this means we need too make a FB group now that we know we're in. I'm so excited!

Got my acceptance e-mail. I think the curriculum is good but everything I've read said to expect A LOT of independent studying so I wouldn't expect much from the professors but if you put in the effort, they have an amazing pass rates for the board exams. Congrats guys! We will definitely need to start a FB group, sounds like it has been a key tool used by previous classes to be successful.

Woohoo! The next three years of my life are going to suck! ;)

I'm down to join a FB group!
