University of South Alabama BSN-DNP Fall 2014

Published

I applied for the Fall 2014 USA BSN-DNP Program. Any ideas on when we will find out if we were accepted? Anyone in the Mobile/Pensacola area also applying to the program? Any advice from past graduates for success?

Thanks!

Congratulations BlueBug!!! I still haven't received a letter in the mail, only the email. Anyone else apply to the BSN-DNP FNP program still waiting on a letter? I emailed the academic advisor this am but got no response yet. :banghead:

Oops sorry I'm using my phone and I meant to congratulate everyone else too, for some reason I didn't see the other threads.

Hi everyone,

I applied for the BSN-DNP Acute Care Pediatrics program. I did not receive an email. What did the email say?

Still waiting for a letter! I need to know! The waiting is harder than a rejection at this point.

Hi Knurse,

I have not heard either, please hang in there, we will be rewarded for our patience! What State do you live in?

Maryland. Did you get an email?

What is your nursing specialty and how many years of experience do you have? I am Med/surg/stemcell tranplant/radiosurgery, close to 25 years.

I have not heard yet, patiently waiting.

PICU nurse for 4 years. Im not patient anymore. They were late to begin with and I just called and the lady I spoke with said that she doesnt think the letters were actually all sent on Thursday. I am really annoyed. I have decisions to make!

I understand perfectly, I do not think the delay is intentional. They have indeed accepted a bunch as we have seen. The good news is, if we were not going to be on board, we would have had that letter by now, you know what I mean. USA has a very good record of student advocacy, the admission committee has a monumental task on hand. Let us pull up the last bit of patience we have, how about that?

Hello All,

I too applied to the BSN-DNP/ FNP program. I am a Maryland resident. However, last month I noticed that the DNP Admission web page was recently updated stating that all residents of Maryland, North Carolina, New York and (another state..sorry I forget which one) are to call the school of nursing before applying. When I emailed one of the advisors, she informed me that Maryland has restrictions for online programs and therefore they can not accept MD residents. I suppose the same goes for the other states. Therefore the secondary application fee will be refunded.

I am aware of the new policies that the Maryland Higher Education Commission has for online programs. The process takes at least 6months for an online program to be approved by the MD higher education commission. USA is in the middle of the application process but has not been approved as of yet... They will not know until late aug/sept.

I ran into this problem with all of the online schools that Ive applied to. Now I am only applying to those that I know have been approved by the MD higher education (very very few).

The advisor also informed me that if I am licensed in another state other than MD, and work in another state, and complete my clinicals in another state, then I could potentially be accepted. Although I live in MD, I am actually licensed and work in DC.

...still waiting to hear back though

:-/.

Is there anyone that has been accepted but has not received the email?
