University of South Alabama accelerated BSN Spring 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey everyone! Just checking if anyone has applied for the second degree BSN program at University of South Alabama for Spring 2018? If so, have you received a letter yet?

Also, if anyone has previously attended this program, what should students expect?

Thanks!

Looking for a place to stay as well, but seem to be running out of luck. I too am from GA

Thanks for your post halleaw.

Is the netbook and software package a requirement? What is the drop out / failure rate from this program?

Hey jazzy212180

Did you find a place to live yet?

I've been out of luck and don't know what to do at this point

Drop out rate : I don't know exact numbers but we started with 33 and now have 27 - but if you don't pass a course you can retake it with the next group

Software package: it is required and very expensive, the software is worth it in my opinion ATI is very helpful but not cheap - the laptop is not a great laptop but in order to get my money's worth I use it all the time

Also teaching method for class is lecture style so PowerPoints - a lot of us record lecture and listen to it and then read the book and pull info from ATI

In clinicals teaching method is extremely hands on so that's pretty cool - all in all to me this whole program is worth the money, love the people in it and love working towards being a nurse

Thanks halleaw

You've been very helpful. I wonder if I can defer acceptance until Spring 2019. With only a few days left, I still don't have a place to live. I'm from out of town. Any recommendations?

Also, I've read from an older post that the instructors from this program are very rude....a lot of people end up failing....someone even advised people not to waste their money... and the list goes on.

I don't want to fall into a trap and decided to get informed.

Hello,

I was just checking to see if anyone was interested in loaning or selling books? Also if you had your immunizations as a child do you have you re-take them
