University of San Francisco (USF) Master's Entry MSN Fall 2024

Updated:   Published

Hi! Anyone else apply to USF's ME-MSN, Clinical Nurse Leader program for Fall 2024? I applied for the San Francisco campus. Their FAQ says they take about 10 weeks from the application deadline to send out decisions, so I'm assuming we'll hear back around mid-April. Would love to hear about your guys' experience applying for this program if you applied previously.

Awesome, thank you! Sorry to ask another question, but any material requirements that you have encountered? I've heard of other schools wanting shoes made out of all leather

No just any all white shoe!

No requirements other than white shoes, but leather is highly suggested in case any fluids get on your shoe. You will get an invitation from the school to purchase a white scrub top / green bottoms

For the students already in the OC campus, are you truly loving your experience and education there? How much support do they offer and do you feel as if they really do care about your success?

Thank you!

For all those who are waitlisted; are y'all starting to feel really discouraged? Because I am.

Don't lose hope! My friend who is currently in the program heard back in late July about her waitlist status. Another student in her cohort heard back the week before classes!

Kinda LOL, I got a response to my email for the OC campus today that I emailed on Wednesday. They said they don't have any update yet but thank you for continued interest LOL. I got into UC Davis but the cost of the program plus living costs for 18 months is just insane and that's what is pushing me away from the program as I'm praying to get into my local OC campus

Is the UC Davis one an MSN program as well? How much is it?

To keep it short, it's a satellite campus and that for sure comes with its own limitations. Very small number of staff, very small campus with not much extra going on. That doesn't bother me personally but it depends on the person! However, there are some amazing professors that are super caring/supportive. You get to know your cohort very quickly. And at the end of the day you will graduate & get your degree LOL!

Thank you! How was your first semester you would say?

During undergrad, I found myself utilizing a lot of my resources such as attending tutoring sessions and office hours. Will this be possible at USF OC? I love and find myself attending these sessions/help weekly so my studying and work is way easier at home as I would have a good foundation after getting that extra help.

Yes, haha very true!

I am also trying to figure out how to cover tuition and living LOL. Did you take out loans and are paying that way?

Thank you!

I would say most if not everyone is taking out loans. There are lots of students who live with family or live on their own.
Also im not super familiar with tutoring resources! We typically will reach out to professors for extra help or some students study together regularly

I use a lot of online resources for extra help but typically material is pretty straight forward, just large volumes of information

Update: I got an email yesterday notifying me of my acceptance from the waitlist for the SF main campus. Good luck to those still waiting to hear back!

Yes it's a direct entry MSN program, the cost of the program is 125k not including living costs so if you fact that in for the 18 months you're looking at like 175k pre interest on loans which is honestly deterring me away from the program 🙃
