University of San Francisco Nursing (USFCA) FALL 2017

Published

Hi All,

Started this thread in anticipation of the March 1st deadline for applications to the University of San Francisco Nursing Program (Fall 2017). This is my second time applying and I am hoping is my last time lol. Anyways if you want to chat about the process don't be shy. I've been looking on past threads and was on one for last semester (Spring 2017) and found this to be helpful even though I didn't get in @USFCA. My stats are listed below if anyone is intrested to take a look. The only variables I have changed since my last application was me finishing psychology, art history, and california history.

Stats

  • Science Pre Reqs: 4.0 (Anatomy, Physio, Micro, and Psych)
  • Nursing Pre Reqs: 3.925
  • Transferable GPA: 3.8

I also volunteer at a local hospital once a week for 4 hours (Started last August). I have 4.5 years EMT experience. I'm only currently taking sociology for this semester and this will be the first time I've not taken at least 12 units at my community college. Look forward to your responses!!!!

I never even knew this program existed! Are you a current student at USF? All I know is they try and send out acceptance before the holidays and it takes about a month. So hopefully we have something to celebrate this Christmas!!!!

Hopefully so. No I'm not a current student. Im currently enrolled at Solano Community College taking the last prerequisites this semester. I'm prior military so I heard about the program through the VA. I really hope I get accepted fall this upcoming spring. I wonder when classes would start for us and when we would start on the background check part and what not.

I am not a veteran, so I am not sure how good my chances are. I just haven't found many people on this website or in person who knows about this school. I would assume classes begin in middle to late January and I know they include summers, so there isn't a lot of time off between classes. Did you apply anywhere else? I know they take 20, but have no idea how many people apply.

No I didn't apply anywhere else and no not many people really talk about this program. I don't think I will get in because I was under the impression that the letter of recommendation was optional so I didn't add anyone but it is showing as a red flag on the application status link. Idk...Im going to email the lady that sent the application status link and see if I can still get someone to submit a recommendation on my behalf.

I was wondering if they let you submit your letter of recommendation? I sure hope so!

Yes I was allowed to submit it. They gave me an email address to get them to send it to. I'm so anxious and I really hope to get in and good luck to you as well!

Hey everyone! I too have applied for the spring 2018 (barely turned in my application in time) and am wondering when we will be receiving acceptance letters. It is driving me crazy with anticipation and anxiety! I will for sure be updating on when I receive mine, hope every one else does too!

Hi! I heard sometime around the 15th, but I would think for sure by Christmas (hopefully). I don't think there is a specific date like some other schools. So I think the waiting just continues! Are you from Sacramento?

Yes I'm so anxious myself. I can't wait to find out the news. I literally check the application website 10 times a day as if it is going to change during closed hours lol

I don't know how good my chances are, because I am not a veteran. I wish there was more information provided like how many people apply.

You don't have to be a Vet. USF has a very diverse background and in fact that is one of the things that sets them apart from other programs. There isn't strict criteria on GPA although it matters. It is more so about the whole person concept. I'm sure you have many unique qualities about you an in your application that will stand well on their own. Good luck to everyone...hopefully we will all be classmates!!!

Do you know how we are notified? Or have anymore details about the program?
