University of San Francisco Fall 2015 BSN Program

Published

Hello everyone!

I created this thread for anyone who applied/applying/got accepted to USF BSN or program. If anyone has any insight, words of wisdom, or anything else that might be useful, it would be much appreciated. Here is a little info about myself to kick this off...

I am currently living in the SF bay area and Im finishing off a few courses before I transfer to a 4 year college next semester. I applied for USF's BSN fall 15 program and here are some of my STATS:

*Academics: I have a 3.8 in my prereqs and a 3.5 (overall) GPA.

*Experience/Volunteer Work: I am a Army veteran with 8 years of experience in health care. ( I have worked in the ICU & ER, at Brooke Army Medical Center for about 6 months. Went on several humanitarian missions which consisted of providing medical aid to rural communities in developing countries. I've also done a tour in Afghanistan, working in a combat support hospital.)

* Personal statement: Writing has never been my strong suit... :-/.. but I wrote it in story format (based on my deployment) and how the values of the military compliment USF's core values.

*Letter of Recommendation: My human anatomy instructor (PhD)

Lastly, I'll keep everyone posted on my application status if any future students want to use this thread as a point of reference.

(I submitted my application yesterday 1/15/15)

Good luck to everyone!!

Hey All,

I sent a email about my application since my transcript was not showing up under my log in and the office of undergraduate admission replied back saying that because they were behind on filing paper work for everyone application that we were going to send out Decision letters late march. I have been twiddling my thumbs and checking my mailbox everyday!

AGHHHHH THAT IS SO FRUSTRATING. I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY HAVEN'T EVEN FILED EVERYONE'S TRANSCRIPTS. THAT'S INSANE TO ME, ANYONE ELSE? Alright, backing off the Caps but seriously...

Thanks for the update!

Yea I sent my transcript in first week of Jan and I kept calling cause was not showing up on my on line application and made me worried I would get denied because of it and then I called admission (in jan and feb) and lady in the front office said that they were swamped with letters and transcripts and they are sorting through adding thing to students application. She then said it wouldn't effect my appliacation process of show up on my application as my transcript being late. I also emailed them to and the email I got back was the one with the letters going out late March. This isn't that bad, my husband didn't get his letter for Santa Clara University until the end of may!! That drove me crazy since he got into USD and we were planning on moving since we didn't hear anything!

Really? they will delay for sending out acceptance to late March? Not same as the last year, good news usually comes before March 15th? When I called usf this week, a guy said everyone should have admission decision in April 1 st! It is same as what I know from the older posts. I sent my transcript at the last day of Jan because Csu just had my fall 2014 grade on my transcript. And then, my record showed that my transcript processed in feb 20th. By the way, I use the USF's online application

Oh wow! Ya I called in feb because mine wasn't updated either and they did say they had a bunch of paperwork but she was able to see that they had it right there and updated it right then. I really hope they were just saying that. For Spring they also said decisions weren't made until jan 1 but they actually were mailed out by dec 15(for good news). As for rejection I literally never received a rejection letter so no clue when that happens. I'm just praying that doesn't happen again this time. The wait was awful. Then when I called after the first of the year that's when I found out all the acceptances were sent by then.

Haven't hear anything today!

Nothin over here

Hi guys! Just thought I'd share some good news. I just got my financial aid info and I qualify as a university scholar and get 20000 a year! Stoked!

Omg that is such good news!! Congrats!!! That will be so much help too considering the tuition. I hope having my son helps me out if I get in.

Did you hear through email or mail for financial aid?
