University of San Francisco Fall 2015 BSN Program

Published

Hello everyone!

I created this thread for anyone who applied/applying/got accepted to USF BSN or program. If anyone has any insight, words of wisdom, or anything else that might be useful, it would be much appreciated. Here is a little info about myself to kick this off...

I am currently living in the SF bay area and Im finishing off a few courses before I transfer to a 4 year college next semester. I applied for USF's BSN fall 15 program and here are some of my STATS:

*Academics: I have a 3.8 in my prereqs and a 3.5 (overall) GPA.

*Experience/Volunteer Work: I am a Army veteran with 8 years of experience in health care. ( I have worked in the ICU & ER, at Brooke Army Medical Center for about 6 months. Went on several humanitarian missions which consisted of providing medical aid to rural communities in developing countries. I've also done a tour in Afghanistan, working in a combat support hospital.)

* Personal statement: Writing has never been my strong suit... :-/.. but I wrote it in story format (based on my deployment) and how the values of the military compliment USF's core values.

*Letter of Recommendation: My human anatomy instructor (PhD)

Lastly, I'll keep everyone posted on my application status if any future students want to use this thread as a point of reference.

(I submitted my application yesterday 1/15/15)

Good luck to everyone!!

Thank you! Are you going to the sac program?

I am in the middle section of wait list at csueb still waiting for a space to be available but if not I will change my major to health sciences. I lost interest in USF already

That is awesome!!!! I heard that they went through a ton on the wait list last year so I bet you have a great chance. I didn't get in due to my chemistry was quarter units and they were saying I didn't have enough for it to fulfill the prereq. I totally understand the losing interest I did too

I just got an acceptance letter for usf. Unfortunately it's too late though.

Hi StephH11! I had been reading all the posts and finally decided to post. Congratulations on the acceptance letter! May I ask whether it was from San Francisco or Sacramento campus? I turned in my apllication 2 weeks ago, and currently waiting to hear back from the Sacramento campus.

Hi! Did anybody else on here or know someone got in Sacramento campus?

Hey it's for San Francisco. I applied there back in January so it's been a long wait. It sounds like the way they worded it I was on a wait list and a spot became available to start fall for the spring cohort. They are giving me a week to decide but I'm already committed somewhere Else. Good luck though. Apparently they have had a lot of applicants but I know they were encouraging people to go to the sac campus so that could be a positive thing for you.

Congratulations @Steph11!! The application process takes times,as I was told by Kate Carter. I switched my application for the Sacramento campus since May 18th and I haven't heard anything from them, so frustrating.

KpK333, did you called them yet?

No, I emailed her last month, letting her know that I haven't heard nothing since switching my application. And she responded back saying my application is still under review for the Sacramento Campus? Did u call them either?

Kpk333, I emailed them and they said my application was under review, and they send out acceptance letter every Fridays. I went to the June 3 info session and they said there were 5 spots left so I applied the week after. On the school flier it said admission letter will be sent 2-3 weeks from the date your application is complete. I don't know what is taking so long since the starting is around the corner.

No, I don't know anybody who got in. Yes, I wrote the school essay and answered the three veteran related questions.
