Hello everyone!
I created this thread for anyone who applied/applying/got accepted to USF BSN or program. If anyone has any insight, words of wisdom, or anything else that might be useful, it would be much appreciated. Here is a little info about myself to kick this off...
I am currently living in the SF bay area and Im finishing off a few courses before I transfer to a 4 year college next semester. I applied for USF's BSN fall 15 program and here are some of my STATS:
*Academics: I have a 3.8 in my prereqs and a 3.5 (overall) GPA.
*Experience/Volunteer Work: I am a Army veteran with 8 years of experience in health care. ( I have worked in the ICU & ER, at Brooke Army Medical Center for about 6 months. Went on several humanitarian missions which consisted of providing medical aid to rural communities in developing countries. I've also done a tour in Afghanistan, working in a combat support hospital.)
* Personal statement: Writing has never been my strong suit... :-/.. but I wrote it in story format (based on my deployment) and how the values of the military compliment USF's core values.
*Letter of Recommendation: My human anatomy instructor (PhD)
Lastly, I'll keep everyone posted on my application status if any future students want to use this thread as a point of reference.
(I submitted my application yesterday 1/15/15)
Good luck to everyone!!
This mail checking stuff is torture hahaha I just am curious how they decide in general and then how they decided who got theirs first ect. It's strange how some got it ups and some usps. If I hear today I'll definitely let you know but I have a feeling I won't hear like you guys. They did promise we would all have our decisions by May 1 which is a few days away!!
Hey guys, I know not everyone has heard back yet, but I started to think about housing for USFCA and created a separate post with different options I'm considering. If you guys want to weigh in, any input would be appreciated and could serve as a compare and contrast for others as they get their letters.

StephH11 omg your game is strong, how can you not get in? I'm praying that ours will come now. Of course I would be really really sad if I didn't get in but I want to know what is really going to happen to me. I just find so ridiculous why they can't mail us at the same time, whether we got accepted or not. I mean c'mon now. It's just really an awful feeling.
Anyway, my gpa is definitely lower than yours but I got work experience so idk if that matters now. Ugh. How can they do this to us...
Nothing in the mail today either.... I figured since I was waitlisted last fall without having finished 3/4 of my prereqs that I would've gotten in having completed them all with A's this time. I have a 3.8 overall and volunteer experience in various areas so I just don't get it. I guess we still have time until Friday but this wait is even worse now that I know other people have gotten in.
Omg ya I remember your story about getting on the wait list. I really don't get how they decide lol. I just hope I get a letter soon either way for closure at least. I do really hope we get some good news though! I did see from previous years some received acceptances later on. Keeping fingers crossed.

Steph I'm in Vallejo, so it shouldn't take long to get here either, by I still haven't heard. I've checked the mail three times today already (what a way to spend my day off!)
p.s. I'm an even older applicant than you... Determined to get back into school before I turn 30!
