I am applying for the Spring 2014. I have a cumulative 3.95 GPA and a 4.0 in the pre-reqs. I have volunteered at UCSF for 3 summers in a row, in addition to Laguna Honda hospital. I probably have a total of 150+ volunteer hours. I am also currently working as a caregiver.
I just started on my essay, due to writers block. But I do know that the essay weighs more heavily than GPA.
As for the essay prompt, I am applying through the USF website and there is only one essay prompt.
Please compose a one or two page essay about yourself that tells us how you will help the University to carry out its mission: To promote learning in the Jesuit Catholic tradition so that students acquire the knowledge, skills, values and sensitivities they need to succeed as persons, professionals and architects of a more humane and just world
FTF4,
Dominican changed their application process this semester. If you look, it says that you must apply prenursing, then attend for one or two semester and apply to SON. They also require interview now. It's ridiculous! I called and they said with the wait and everything, it's a minimum of 4 years before you can graduate
Hi all, what year in college are you?
I applied to usf for fall 2013 and got in, but wouldn't have started the nursing program til 2014 so I rejected my admission. I was also waiting to hear from smu for this fall, but didn't get in so I applied again for spring 2014. I initially wasn't going to apply to usf again for fall 2014 because it's a three year program, and so much money, but I'm thinking of applying again because I do not want to waste anymore time waiting for other schools. I'm still waiting to hear from smu.
Isis everyone just waiting to hear from different schools? If the deadline for spring for usf is nov 1, when's everyone supposed to find out about their admission?
@kayevangelisa
USF is the only school I'm applying to since I missed the deadline for SMU and don't qualify for Dominican because I retook a prerequisite twice. Did you have any failing grades when you applied for fall 13? I believe we will be hearing back sometime in December. I agree that USF is a super pricey and lengthy program but I'm desperate at this point.

Hello!
I know it's still early on in the game but I was wondering if anyone applied for USFs BSN program for spring 14? I just applied. IF so, do you mind sharing your GPA, Volunteer/Work experience? :)
