Hi all!!! I know it is early but I thought I would start this thread. Is anyone else getting their information ready and applying for Fall 2016?
Hello Everyone,
I was accepted for Fall 2016! yay! I was wondering if anyone has heard anything negative about the program... besides the cost and you're getting your master's instead of a bachelor's. They made it seem too good at the interview haha.. I am trying to decide between schools and for now this is still my top choice, but I am trying to make an educated decision. Thank you!

Congrats @jpangs!!! I'm also interested in this topic as well. So far, the only negative thing I've heard is with regards to the cost of the program. If anyone has heard any other negative aspects to this program, please chime in and let us know, thanks!
Hi, I was wondering how you received the letter? Via USPS, FedEx, UPS? I checked the portal last Friday and it says I am accepted, and I already submitted the $1,000 deposit. But I haven't received anything in the mail yet. I also live in San Diego! I am excited that I found out via portal, but worried I didn't get an actual letter in the mail

Congrats on your acceptance!!! I received the letter via USPS, and I'm in NorCal. I assume it might've gotten lost in the shuffle of mail? I'd imagine especially if you live in SD that you should've received it by now. I was a little worrisome too about not getting the letter thursday/friday like others, but it showed up on Saturday afternoon for me.

I'm in the same exact boat! My interviewer mentioned that letters would be sent out the first week of march, so I wouldn't think too much of it. I think wait until Saturday comes and see if you still haven't received anything.
I also got an email reminding me to keep checking the portal for more information on financial aid, so I assume they're sending out stuff like that too which should confirm that you're actually in haha. Hopefully there are no cruel surprises for us here!

Sav768, are you alluding to the idea that potential employers may raise a brow at you for fast tracking your education by going straight to an MSN versus acquiring a BSN first? If so, I can understand your concern over this. Having a BSN and then an MSN in a sense shows dedication to the field, but I don't think having just an MSN will put as at a huge disadvantage. At the very least, we may be regarded similarly to new grad BSNs when we first start, however, I think we'll have more opportunities with an MSN after a few years of experience. As an employee at a VA Medical Center, I have seen the nursing department hire both new grad BSN and new grad MSN.
I think you should also look at the advantages of having an MSN such as being set up well for pursuing further education (as MSN-DNP programs are faster than BSN-DNP programs) and the ability to teach. I was talking to a nurse educator at the VA, who is currently pursuing her PhD in Nursing Science, and I had asked what her opinion was b/c I have been accepted to both ABSN and MEPN programs. She told me if I already have a BS in a related field, and I've already been accepted to MSN programs, I'd be doing myself somewhat of a disservice to myself especially with regards to time and money. Is your BS in a related field or is it totally different? Moreover, federal loans will not cover another bachelor's degree, and you'll have to pursue private lenders that may have higher and/or variable interest rates.
Hope this was helpful in addressing your concern. If I totally missed the mark, my apologies for the long and drawn out response! lol

Huge congratulations to all those accepted!
Waitlisted as well. Really bummed about it since this is the only school I would like to attend. However, I am being positive and hoping for the best!
I would also love to know how many people are on the waitlist.
