Hello everyone. I am new to allnurses and needed some feedback on my situation. I applied to the University of Rochester's accelerated master's program for non-nurses. My first interview with the NP faculty member went well but they asked for an additional letter of rec, which I sent them. Then I had a second interview with another faculty member and was asked to get another :uhoh3:letter of rec from an employer, which would have been a 4th one, and to do another statement of purpose which I did. I can't get another letter of rec because I have exhausted all my resources. Does anyone think I won't get in because I didn't provide another letter of rec? Any suggestions would be so wonderful. I really don't know what I am supposed to do:uhoh21:. I feel like I did so much already. please HELP!!!

Did you ask for a favorable letter? Are you sure that those who are recommending you are able to provide you with the best possible letter? I always make a point to make sure that the person I ask a letter of will give me a positive one.

Also, if you think that it will make a difference, call admissions office and talk to the admissions director (I know her well), and ask her to be dropped down to the accelerated bachelors option. The first year it is the same for everyone. At the end you get a regular BSN. About 3/4 of the people who applied to the masters either deferred their masters classes, are taking master's classes part time (which you can do as a non-matriculated student without being accepted to the master's program, and then transfer), or changed plans and moved out of state to work/go to school somewhere else.

I did not apply that program, but I do live in Rochester and I have heard that progrma is really hard to get into. They get many many applicants for very few seats. I would do as someone else suggested and call the admissions dept to see what is up...If you have your heart set on U of R. You could always obtain your nursing degree somewhere else (ADN/BSN) and then move here and work for Strong Memorial Hospital and then you can go to the U of R for free.....
