Starting a thread for those applying to the University of Rochester ABPNN September 2018 start date. Anyone finished their applications yet?
I have no idea how many applicants they interview. I assume they don't interview anyone who's not an option at all (like doesn't have a bachelor's degree, any pre-reqs, and whatnot), but otherwise I don't know. My interviewer seemed to not know much about how many people they interview or how many people had applied or how admissions worked (sigh!). I've also read that it's 65/66 people who are accepted though.
I had my interview yesterday, I think it went well, now I'm just anxious to hear back.
My interviewer said that they have 12 weeks from the application deadline to make decisions. It's already been 7 weeks, so we will find out within the next 5. She also said that it doesn't usually take that long... so here's hoping they are quick this cohort.
Best of luck to everyone!
Had my interview in the beginning of March! It went pretty well and the lady was super nice and we just ended up talking about some of my experiences in healthcare/ my job. I also don't think they give our information/application to the interviewers beforehand because she was asking basic questions before she got started on the reasons for applying to Rochester, why I want to go into nursing, etc. She also said that we would hear back in June and I also emailed recently to confirm since I had to tell another program if I was going to accept/deny their offer.
Hello Binta,
I remember applicants were already being interviewed as early as November. I turned my application in towards the tail-end of the deadline and my interview was the first week of January. My CPR expired December 2017, but I turned that in anyway. Once you get your package, a checklist will be included. CPR would have to be taken or renewed prior to the start of the program. Acceptance started in February, including applicants who were waitlisted (me being one of them), in alphabetical order. From the previous thread, it was about 400 applicants who applied.

This was helpful thank you. Do you think they interview every applicant? I was told there were about 300 applicants this cycle so I am soo nervous. Other threads said they interview 100 people for the 65 spots is that true ?
