University of Rochester ABPNN September 2018

Starting a thread for those applying to the University of Rochester ABPNN September 2018 start date. Anyone finished their applications yet?

Updated: I've just had my interview for the program. Anyone else?

Awesome. I had my interview in Feb. Did they say/did you ask how many applicants there were this round? Or, what their time frame looks like for decisions?

I asked how many applicants, but my interviewer didn't know. And from what I've seen on the website and previous threads, they should be letting people know mid may through mid june. My interviewer said it's rolling admission and I would know in the next month, but I'm pretty sure she was wrong on that because that's not what the UR website says or what they've done in previous sessions.

Yeah, that's what I've seen as well, except the rolling admissions. Keep me posted on here and good luck!

Hello, I was wondering how long after you applied do you hear back? I put my application in and everything is in but I haven't gotten a call yet. Is that a bad sign?

I've looked at some of the older message boards and it looks like people were still hearing back months after they applied. I'm assuming it depends on how many applicants they have and how long it takes to look through them. I had my application and everything in by the end of January minus 1 letter of recommendation which I turned in early February, then I got a call a week or 2 later, but that might of been so quick just because it was before the application due date.

Oh okay thanks how did you feel about the interview do you have an idea of what they are looking for?

My interviewer asked me why nursing, why UR, if I'm planning to work while in the program, and a couple other questions that I can't remember now. She explained the way the program worked and asked if I had any questions. The interviews are a half hour and she spent probably 10 minutes of it telling me about the program. She also seemed very displeased that I said I am hoping to work part time if I get in, and then she told me at least 10 times that it's a very difficult program and that people do fail out sometimes. Honestly, I don't think she liked me very much! While she had all my paperwork in front of her, I'm pretty sure she hadn't looked at it at all because she seemed to not know anything about me. And she didn't engage in conversation much, just asked a question and stared at her paper while I spoke. Hoping that she's just not a very good interviewer, and not that I totally bombed it! But she said there's 7 of them doing interviews, so chances are that you won't have the same lady. Although she was very nice to the person ahead of me (I could hear a large portion of their interview), she basically told that girl she was sure to get into the program...she didn't say that to me. But we'll see!

Hi guys! So glad to have found this string. I have a phone interview in mid-April. I'm wondering if mine is so far back because I applied closer to the app deadline. Best of luck to everyone! I have a couple of friends that went through the program years ago and they loved it :) Has anyone heard back post-interview?

From what I understand based on the UR website and from previous threads, I don't think any of us will hear until somewhere between mid May and mid June. A friend of mine who's in the program now didn't hear until late June last year. I imagine it depends on how many applicants they had for this start date. I wish I knew how many people applied!

Me too! It's such a waiting game with all of these programs. Good luck to everyone!
