Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone and anyone interested in applying for the U of R!

I applied for the Fall 2016 Cohort, and I noticed there hasn't been a thread started for it yet, so here I am.

Does anyone have an interview scheduled, and where are you all applying from?

Anyone else relocating to Rochester?

If so, i'm highly interested in a roommate! I'm moving from California and i'm on the hunt for a place & roommate(s)

I'm so frustrated that I haven't received any financial aid/tuition/loan info yet. Have any of you rec'd anything?

Did you complete your FASFA?

Hey im Bella!

Im also relocating to rochester, has anyone found a roomate yet? do you guys know where the nursing students tend to live?

Sadly, My spot is now open, couldn't bear the reality of $60k in loans. I have four kids to help with their own schooling in a few years.

for those of you who were accepted off of the waitlist, did you receive a letter in the mail?

Hey hey sept cohort, I'll be a second semester student when you guys start. I live 10 mins walking distance from the school my landlord has a free bedroom open for anyone who still was in the need of housing. It's 375 a month utilities not included. Utilities normally like 50-60 dollars. Let me kno if anyone is interested & I look forward to meeting you guys good luck !!!!

Is there a Facebook group yet? FINALLY got in!

Hi guys! I applied for the 2017 cohort, and am wondering if those in the program can answer some questions. What are the clinicals like? Do you get exposure to er and critical care departments? What about in the capstone? Also, do you learn skills like starting IVs? Any other info on the program would be super helpful too! Thank you!

Hey. Sept 2016 cohort member here. We just started clinicals this week in long term care. We spend 4 days in each rotation. You can also see this information on the UR current students section of the website. Look up academic calendar. Our next rotation will be acute care. I'm going to purposley refrain from saying exactly where we do our rotations. You will not choose your capstone until your third semester. In NY you do not learn to place IV or work with blood in school. You have to get certified. You usually learn that when you graduate or after you get hired. The job will usually pay for it for you. There is also a Facebook group for your cohort. Let me know if you need help finding it.
