Hi! I'm looking at applying for the ABPNN at U of R. Does anyone know what GPA, major, age, and experiences they are looking for. I completed all the pre-req's and I'm graduating in Dec 14'. I haven't been able to find anyone that was willing to share their background info who already has been accepted in the program! Any details would be GREAT!!

I am also interested in this program. It has the reputation of being one of the top nursing programs in the country. Some statistics would be nice if anyone is in the program or has gone to an information session.

Hey everyone,

I am also applying for the ABPNN as well. For the ABPNN, the lady told me you need at least 2.8 and the AMPNN is a 3.5. Just a heads up one of the advisors called me to set up a phone interview this wednesday =), mainly cause I'm coming from Cali, so exciting, lil nervous but ill take the time to practice an breathe. Good Luck to you all :-)

I'm not entirely sure what they'll ask, my interview is this coming wednesday, I definitely fill you in on what they ask me :-)

hey allylyn and future ABPNN

I found the interview questions on a previous thread hope this helps :-)

1) how did you go from _______ to nursing?

2) why nursing?

3) what makes you a good fit for our program?

4) do you plan on working while enrolled as a student?

5) what healthcare experiences do you have?1. Why Rochester?

6. Tell me about your experiences with nursing/ clinical and life experiences?

7. How do you handle stress?

8. Why U of R?,

9. What does being a nurse mean to you?,

also I heard the interview can run upwards from 25-45 minutes, leaving room for open-ended questions. Good Luck

Thanks so much!!!

Good morning guys

I just had my phone interview with one of the faculty. It was a very nice and comfortable interview. what she asked was

1) how did you go from _______ to nursing?

2) why nursing?

3) what makes you a good fit for our program?

4) do you plan on working while enrolled as a student?

5) what healthcare experiences do you have?

6. Tell me about your experiences with nursing/ clinical and life experiences?

7. How do you handle stress?

8. Why U of R?

9. What are the three characteristics of a nurse?

10. What skills and attributes you can bring as a nurse?

I also asked her things about the program, fin aid etc and she was very nice and I think you will do very fine and I got a little nervous but I gave it my all. My interviewer also said that she is going to send the interview to the committee and they would either call/send a letter by the end of January.

Good luck to you allylyn and to everyone and please let me know how it goes :-)

Also the interviewer will ask do you work best in groups, alone, notecards, but that should come fairly simple

I just finished my interview and it went really well. The lady was extremely nice and she asked almost all the questions that you said she'd ask. I can't wait until January now!

OMG that sounds really awesome, I am glad yours went well, yaayyy now on to the wait. We're that much closer to our future careers. I'm glad they accept students three times year. Also while I was crazy researching, U of R is ranked among the top nursing programs in the country. Hopefully well become classmates and best of luck to you :-).

Hey all. It's really exciting to hear about all of your interviews. I applied for the ABPNN as well! The online progress report still says they don't have all of my documents so I'm kind of anxiously waiting for the next step. Still prepping for the interview though. I'm excited
