University of Rochester - ABPNN Fall 2013

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Hi, just thought I'd start a thread for University of Rochester's ABPNN Fall 2013 applicants...

Yes me too! I also applied to University of San Francisco and Union University (Tennessee).

I'm hoping they will call sooner since they didn't get many applicants this cohort!

Cant waitttt annnyyyyy longerrrrr......NEEED to KNOWWW!!!! lol Anyone going to move down there early when they get in? If I get accepted I am moving beginning of July.

nermface - do you know if they send you a letter with your acceptance or if you get denied? I read I thought that they call you if you get in and then after they send letters out to the ones that arent accepted. I was going with the theory that the longer I dont hear anything the better haha

I qas planning to move there at the beginning of August if I get accepted. Alls I know is that we'd get a phone call if we were accepted. Not sure of anything beyond that. I still need to submit my spring grades, so I hope they won't wait longer to call me back. Did you find a place to stay already?

I have been looking here and there. I know someone in Rochester so she said shed help me when I "fingers crossed" get accepted. I have all my grades in already. SO I hope they give me a ring soon. what class are you taking right now?

That's great-having connections defo is a good thing to have!

I'm wrapping up from a ridiculous semester. Taking 20 credits- bio, micro, orgo, nutrition, and A&P. If anything else, this hectic semester has prepped me for the potential rigor we'd be facing at any accelerated program!

Based on last fall's cohort, people started to get calls around the first week of June... and those who had been wait-listed got calls all the way into August. I sincerely hope this isn't the case this time around!

Hey nermface - sorry for the delay. Yep submitted everything. Haven't heard back yet. Are you already in the program or completed it? Do you know how big the cohort class size is?

Nope, still waiting to hear back from them. Mid-May is the absolute earliest they'd call us...but it looks like many from the previous fall got a call during the first week of June!

As far as I know, they try to admit 60, but I heard they're shooting for around 64 this cohort.

You probably won't hear back until the week they close applications for the winter cohort. Good luck!

Nermface - YOU ARE CRAZY! I hope your not working on top of that schedule haha Where are you taking classes at?

seriously the beginning of June...that's crazy. I just got denied for Marymount...Wahhhh! That's okay though, I wasn't too keen on the school any how. Im going to check out the other schools that you applied to. I hope UR works out for me! Always can apply for January start =)

I'm taking my prereqs at a community college in Delaware. It's been so tough, I can almost taste the freedom! I'm also working nearly 20 hours a week, but mostly throughout the weekend... I need a break!

Wow good to know there are a bunch of others out there chewing their nails off over this wait like I am!!! I was stoked to get called for an interview in March, which went swimmingly - really liked my interviewer - but now I'm just sweating about getting in!! So to add my 2c to the discussion about interviews, I was specifically told that NOT everyone gets called for an interview, so take that as you will. I was also told to expect a letter in early June, and she said that all the letters (+ and -) go out at once. So that should answer whoever's question about whether they would get a letter either way. Sorry, can't remember who asked that lol. I only applied to UofR's ABPNN, I have no interest to spend another 4 or even 2 years in school after getting both a BS (Biology) and my Veterinary Technician's license, so all my eggs are definitely in one basket! I am a resident of Rochester, and work as a Vet Tech here in the city. For those of you traveling from far away, ROC is a GREAT city to live in - full of arts and entertainment and lovely greenspace, with the country just a skip outside the city limits :) Question: did anyone else feel like their interviewer was trying to sell them the program? Like they were trying to convince you to go there? And did they take a lot of notes? Mine did, which was good I think but also a little wierd. Of course I HATE HATE talking about myself so I get self conscious when people start taking notes on my reasons for wanting to be in the program etc.... BEST of luck to everyone, keep us all informed here about your acceptances (staying positive we will ALL be there!!)

Cheers to my (hopefully) future classmates!!

Yes, I did feel like my interviewer was trying to convince me to go there. Are they not giving phone calls anymore? I've begun to stare at my phone, even though it's way too early.
