University of Rochester - ABPNN Fall 2013

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Hi, just thought I'd start a thread for University of Rochester's ABPNN Fall 2013 applicants...

I hope they call soon!!! I just really want to know! How is everyone planning on financing their tuition? My interviewer said that financial aid is not enough to cover all of the costs :/

Loans loans loans!

Yeah definitely me too! If you don't mind me asking...have you already got your loans all lined up or are you waiting until you get accepted? I have started looking into different types of loans but I don't want to go too far into the process until I find out if I got accepted.

Yeh I'm waiting until I get accepted as well. It's so overwhelming!

Waiting until acceptance... Want to see how much they'll give me, but its so hard as a second-bachelors student!! I hope everyone got their FAFSA in on time, deadline for our program was May 1!! Loans are so scary but there is no other way for us on hubby's income alone :/

Yes definitely! I am hoping I can get enough in loans to cover everything!

Do you think they take into consideration the money aspect? I handed in all my financial documents. I cannot receive FASFA since I am Canadian. Sooo basically im going to be broke.

Not sure what you mean?

Sorry you can't benefit from American financial aid :( ... there's nothing at all for foreigners??? That's crap.

We'll be very broke too... no way will the aid I get cover more than maybe 1 semester's worth, so the rest will have to be private loans... ugh. Motivation to do AWESOME in school and land a great $60K job to pay it all off quick, especially since I intend to specialize after working a couple years!!!

Hard to say. That was definitely one question I was asked though during the interview...and my response was definitely jotted down.

I was also asked during my interview. It kind of caught me off guard. I would much rather go to UR instead of the school in Tennessee that I got into...just hoping I can get enough private loans to cover all the costs! Good luck to everyone! I hope we all get phone calls soon!!!

Yea, I know they wrote it down because I told them I would be able to pay in full. Hope that helps me out....

I was not asked, but I think that's because I (accidentally) headed off the question. I don't remember the exact phrasing, but she made a comment about the expense of the program, and I told her that we had a detailed financial plan for the next year and didn't anticipate any significant "financial aid". I truly had no comprehension of the finances involved in an education when I was fresh out of HS, I have a VERY different perspective now and though $60K is intimidating, I am willing to take that debt on for a good program that will get me the skills I need to be successful. She did a lot of writing throughout the interview, so that could be good or bad, I have no idea. :banghead::banghead: I am so ready for this wait to be over!!

I imagine that they want to avoid people being admitted, then finding that they can't afford to go. It probably makes more work for them and affects their statistics somehow, so knowing you will be able to afford to come if accepted MIGHT be positive... just speculation!
