Thought I'd start a thread for those applying to the U of R ABPNN/AMPNN programs for the May 2014 start. I went to undergrad nearby and had a wonderful experience volunteering at Strong and U of R is my first choice school for sure. I'm hoping to get accepted to the psychiatric speciality of the AMPNN program. Who else is applying?
hey guys im lost. can someone please help..how can yo apply to the masters program if you dont even have bachelor? how does that work. im currenly doing my prerequisite at monroe community college for the nursing program at the university of Rochester.. do you basically just apply to the BSN/masters program...how does this work..
I don't believe U of R has a 'first' bachelor's program, only the Accelerated BSN (i.e. you must have a bachelor's in another field first).
Hey guys! First off, congratulations to all of you on your acceptances! I hope to be in your position this time next year :) I was just wondering if you could tell me your stats like GPA, experience, etc. I have a pretty good GPA, above a 3.5 but not perfect, but I am lacking experience in a clinical setting. Is this going to be a problem for me? I want to make sure I have a good competitive application next year. Thanks for the help!
I got accepted from the wait list. I have to make a decision by Wednesday. I'm so grateful for this but at the same time, the cost of admission is whoaa! I got accepted into Edinboro as well, which is about $40,000 less but UR is a great school. So stuck!!
congratulations!!!! hope you decide on UR!!!!!
Hi I noticed that you are from Farmingdale NY. Im from Long Island too. I just got the call yesterday as well. I wasn't given much information to go on though. I just came home from work and now its too late to call them. I just registered for all nurses and I'm still learning to figure out the site.
But if you can pm me some information about the program cost it would be a GREAT GREAT help.
Please and Thanks!
My name is Tishana btw :)
Hi All,
Just sent in my deposit and will be starting in May with the rest of you! Wanted to say hello and see if anyone had any leads on places to live. I'm originally from New York (Albany area) but have been living out in Jackson, WY for five years. I really don't know the Rochester area at all, so any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks all- looking forward to meeting and working with everyone!

Thompson2082 - Stick to looking in the "white coat area" you see advertised. It's right by the school and hospital. You might even be able to find walking distance and not even need 4WD! Rochester Craigslist is your best bet in finding housing. Good luck! p.s. I thought Ohio got lots of snow? lol!:)
