What Members Are Saying (AI-Generated Summary)

Members are discussing the number of seats offered in a program, with some confusion about the exact number of full-time and part-time spots available. There is also debate about the fairness of offering acceptances early in the interview process and concerns about the scoring system. Additionally, members are inquiring about additional interview dates and waiting for acceptance notifications by the end of the month.

Hi all, just submitted my app on 11/10 and attended a zoom information session last night. Good luck everyone!

No emails were sent and It seems like not very many part time acceptances went out so hopefully maybe more will go out tomorrow.

How does part time work for those that were offered and can we all talk about this on the Facebook group

Did you happen to find out the cost yet?

Yes how do we find it

You can join without it! You probably don't have one yet, no worries

I just got offered part time !!

I also got a part-time offer about 4:30 CT . I am not sure exactly how it logistically works, I know online classes start Jan 2026, we get an academic advisor, but kinda clueless about anything else. How many classes do we take per semester? Which cohort do we graduate with? Does it make sense to even accept another full-time offer that starts next year Aug/Sept or take this one? Do I even accept an offer from a lower ranking school that starts in Jan 2026? I honestly welcome all opinions to chime in. Congratulations to everyone again!

Is anybody thinking about doing part-time in fall? I heard they allow us to take some classes early to lessen the course load in certain semesters (I.e. patho)

I am leaning heavily to accept my part-time offer.

If it starts next August to September I would definitely just go to Pitt unless there was other reasons like tuition, location, or personal convenience like being online. Pitt is a top school so it would be worth waiting a month or two.

Thanks for the advice, and it makes complete sense. Is part-time in-person or online?

So to my knowledge, part-time is just being a part-time grad student. So it depends on what classes are offered. They apparently commonly recommend patho for the part-time fall, and it's offered online or in-person.

They take the patho out of the first semester, so you're left with 9.5 credit hours for that Spring semester. Which is still considered full-time for a grad student (9hrs)

Great! Thanks for the clarification. Will we be able to work a full-time job with part-time courses or is it recommended?
