Hi everyone,
I created this feed for nurses applying to or already accepted to the CRNA program at Pitt that begins January 2020. Has anyone submitted their application yet? Has anyone received a call for interviews? I know it is early in the process but waiting is so hard. If you feel comfortable posting stats, please feel free. Hope to hear from some nurses soon.
I just had to make an account to quell your fears because I was in the same position last year, staring at my phone and checking this site everyday. I put in my application relatively late and was the last interview date. If you haven't heard back yet most likely not going to hear back til about a week after the last interview date now. I believe mine was somewhere around May 25th didn't hear til the first second week in June. If they interviewed you they found you worthy and they want you, it just takes some time. So, let this out of your head for the next 40 days. You can let your daily anxiety ramp up again starting in June. If you are from the Pittsburgh area I do believe your chances are a little better between about 1/3 and 1/2 of my class are from the area (I'm not). Once you get that call you got to accept. The program is truly built for you to exceed they have no desire to weed anybody out and you get tons of simulation hours before even going to an OR and I can't even count how many clinical sites they send students too. So, take a breath and relax for a little while.
I appreciate your concern! I have been going crazy waiting. I spoke with Dr O'Donnell through Morgan in the office, they told me: "We were to ambitious in saying we would contact everyone within the week. You will have an answer by next week. They are still reviewing applications from your specific interview date. We're sorry that it is taking so long". I'm really not sure how to take it since there have been people accepted and those that are now waiting for the next application cycle (May 1st) from my interview group. I wish they hadn't given us a deadline. I check my phone every ten minutes during the week.

I’m our interview they said that was this was an option, but I was wondering how competitive it was to get a position. It sounds ideal.

I have a couple questions for you if you don’t mind! Is class only two days a week during the summer semester too?
Also, does the program follow the normal school schedule in regard to Christmas break and things like that? I know some programs don’t break when the nursing school does and some do.
I know the textbooks for the program are all online- can you download them and access them when you’re offline?
Thank you!

There are multiple professors calling excepted students. So they might not be done excepting everybody this round!
