University of Pittsburgh CRNA 2020

Nursing Students SRNA

Published

Hi everyone,

I created this feed for nurses applying to or already accepted to the CRNA program at Pitt that begins January 2020. Has anyone submitted their application yet? Has anyone received a call for interviews? I know it is early in the process but waiting is so hard. If you feel comfortable posting stats, please feel free. Hope to hear from some nurses soon.

Specializes in ICU.

I'll be relocating to Pittsburgh soon. Does anyone have recommendations on good neighborhoods to look into? Looking for a house or condo and will be working/studying at UPMC. Thanks!

I just got a call this morning too. I'll be flying out to interview on the 25th at noon. Anyone else going to be in the area? I figured I had no chance at this school. 307 gre, 1.5 years ICU by start date, 4 years level 2 trauma er. Certs: MICN, ENPC, TNCC, CCRN, and standard ACLS, BLS, PALS. 3.7 BSN GPA, 3.1 cumulative. I interviewed at USC, but was rejected in January. Not sure what their interview will be like, but was told its 4 hours long. I hope it is as relaxed as my USC interview.

Hey! Just wondering how I could get my MICN certification. All I can seem to find online are colleges in Cali and fake websites.

Depends where you live and who your hospital is affiliated with. For Riverside and San Bernardino counties, they use crafton hills in Yucaipa. Typically the base station has an allotted amount of spaces with whichever ems regulatory body. They’re usually associated with a local community college where the courses take place. For me it’s REMSA (since I live in riverside, ca). Here are some of the neighboring counties:

https://www.healthdisasteroc.org/ems/emt/micn_authorization

http://dhs.lacounty.gov/wps/portal/dhs/ems/certification

https://www.rivcoems.org/

There may be a way to register with the college and take the course, but you’ll likely need a sponsor to get the license.

Where’d you end up? I’m flying out next month to look at houses in Lawrenceville, Oakland, Stanton heights, and the south side. Lawrenceville was awesome the last time I was there.

Thanks! Hopefully I can find somewhere. I will definitely be getting the ENPC and TNCC though. I think your post has been the most helpful out of everyone's for helping with certs for applying to schools! Hope you're doing well in your classes.
