Hello everyone! This thread is for folks applying to UPenn's Accelerated BSN-MSN program for the 2023 start.
Feel free to introduce yourself, ask questions and offer guidance and support to other candidates. Please be respectful and kind and remember that this is a long, exhausting, expensive, stressful journey for lots of people. Let's do our best to uplift and help each other. Good luck!

The website states the priority deadline is still Oct. 17th, but the "regular" deadline was extended to 2/1. I would agree with you, that likely meant they received fewer applications that they had anticipated.

That was my first thought as well. It's either they need more quality applicants for the program itself, or are looking to lower their acceptance rate by upping app numbers (then denying new applicants).
I'm not gonna lie... I wouldn't be mad if there are fewer apps this year

If they did that with the intent to draw in applications (and application fees) with the goal of just denying them, that would be incredibly unethical, if not unlawful. I agree with your first point, it's likely a need for more applicants or more quality applicants.
Okay so I just got off the phone with the security desk who said they're getting a lot of calls about this. They tried to tell me it might be a phishing scam but I have a feeling they're doing something on the backend that generated the email.. she was very vague/not an admissions person but said she was told there will be an update tomorrow. Doesn't make me feel much better haha but just wanted to share with others!!

Thank you for sharing. Personally, I don't buy the phishing thing. The email was sent from the official admissions email, [email protected]
Hopefully we'll find out soon. I wasn't antsy before but the false alarm got me.
