  1. Wow thank you so much for these kind words, that was really sweet of you ?? you're also going to be a great nurse too! Can I share with you also that those work experiences were all after I initially failed to successfully complete an ADN program? I thought my life, and my dream of nursing was over at that point, I had to start over in so many ways. I understand now it was just part of my journey and I'm thankful for the way things happened for me. I'd encourage anyone struggling on their journey to never stop believing in yourself! Lean into your purpose and let God work ?
  2. Hey everyone! I've been anxiously following this group along with the one on Facebook as a first time applicant. I felt really superstitious posting until everything was finalized for the award, but wanted to share for other/future applicants. This process is beyond stressful, so I hope this info can help at least one person! Congratulations to everyone who is here, regardless of award status. I will continue to keep you all in my thoughts as we pursue our shared dream and I hope to work alongside some of you one day ❤️ - I submitted my completed application the day before it closed - Credit check on 8/19 - COI received 9/13, submitted back completed documents on 9/17 - Award notification 9/25 - SAI ~5000 - ABSN Program that is $8700/semester (I was about halfway through the 23 month program when I applied, my funding is for 4 semesters/2 years of service since my program ends next July), NSNA member, 4.0 GPA - Letters of recommendation were completed by my Global Health professor and my manager from a position where I delivered virtual mental health support to adolescents - In my essay, I spoke on a few of the roles I've had in healthcare with underserved populations. I've worked in healthcare for ~10 years making my way to nursing and am most passionate about mentaI healthcare. I highlighted my 3.5 years as a mental health technician and discussed what I saw and it's influence on my passion to innovate the way inpatient care is delivered. I also worked as a clinical research assistant where I was a smoking cessation counselor to HIV+ participants, and highlighted how I helped improve our session completion rates by the rapport I developed with participants from various backgrounds in this role. Sorry to be lengthy LOL, I just wanted to include some of the answers I wish I had seen more of while I was anxiously waiting and trying to gauge where I stood! Wishing everyone well moving forward, if there's anything else I can answer I'd be happy to ?
  3. I got an email from admissions that the system is slow but we should be able to see updates after 2:30pm EST- good luck to everyone!!!
  4. I totally agree with you and tried to tell them that- such a cruel false alarm email to send out!!
  5. Okay so I just got off the phone with the security desk who said they're getting a lot of calls about this. They tried to tell me it might be a phishing scam but I have a feeling they're doing something on the backend that generated the email.. she was very vague/not an admissions person but said she was told there will be an update tomorrow. Doesn't make me feel much better haha but just wanted to share with others!!
