University of Oklahoma-Accelerated BSN Program

Nursing Students Online Learning

Published

Hi All,

I'm new to this site and to the field of nursing. Has anyone gone to this school and if so, what did you think?

I live in San Diego, CA, and there is an online program that this school offers. I'm 3 prerequisites away from applying to the school, with a start date of August 08. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey enb611 I am applying for this Spring too and have two classes left. Have you heard how many they are accepting this Spring?

Hi everyone

good luck applying for Spring...I just started this Fall and it is a very intense program...a lot of work. I would apply with classes in progress because even if you are not accepted I feel that somehow you do have more chances to get in following semester. BTW this is not a rule it is just what I 've heard

Sdgirl27,

I am not sure how many they are accepting for Spring. What have heard from past years is that not as many people apply for the Spring term...hopefully, that is a good sign for us! The waiting is what is going to be agony.

Thanks laura06baby I am applying and then probably reapplying in the spring for the fall. I have a feeling that there are going to be a lot of applicants, but as many as the fall.

There were 200 applicants for the fall and they only accepted 50. enb611 do you have any other schools you are applying to?

YES we are 58 this semester....

Hey laura06baby do you know why only 58 and not 70something? I called the office and they wont know for a couple of more weeks how many students they will accept for the spring.

I am worried that I wont get in because my undergrad degree was in bio so I took most of the science courses back then and my average of the sciences is 3.0. I wish I could have retaken them a boosted my GPA! They told me that the average in past has been 3.0 so I would get in. I dont because they are not accepting as many people.

yes the Fall class ...58 people and I heard it was very competitive...high GPAs

SDGIRL27,

For the Spring term I only applied to University of Oklahoma, but if I don't get in I will reapply for the summer and fall and also apply to Cal State Fullertons's Entry Level Masters program for the Fall.

From reading previous posts it seems like most get into the program the first or second time they apply. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

What other programs did you apply for?

Hi there, I have been lurking here for a little while now reading all the threads (wow, they are definitely all very informative). I am finished with all my prereqs and working on submitting my application for Spring. The only thing left is a TOEFL this Saturday which btw came as a complete surprise on the application. FYI, no where in the website mentions this but even if you are a US citizen, OU requires the TOEFL for _anyone_ born abroad. I think somewhere in previous threads somebody had mentioned that the scores could delay the final decision but I had no idea what they were talking about until I saw the application.

I did ask the Glendale admissions counselor today in regards to the current applicant pool is for Spring and it's only at 45 which is good news for many of us. Of course, she also warned that this could double in the next couple of weeks with last minute applicants...

Anyways, just thought I'd chime in to this lively group!

marrionnette,

45 Applicants! That is definitly good news. When I read through some of the older posts it appeared that the Spring term was the least applied for...strange, but good news for all of us that applied this term.

Has anyone the number of applicants for the San Diego campus? I am taking my CLEP for Human Growth and Development on Wednesday. I hope the scores don't delay my application. I know that we get them right away, but I wonder how long it takes to get to the school.

Well, from what I have read in the past we probably won't hear anything about admission decisions until closer to Christmas...that is so long to wait!

We found out about Fall admissions only about a month and a half after the application due date, so I sure hope that is the same way for this time around! Waiting around is the worst.

I applied for the Fall term this summer and took a CLEP exam over a week before the application was due. I was told my scores would be sent immediately to OU and that it should be no problem, however it took over a month for OU to acknowledge that they had received them. By that point the committee had already reviewed my application and since my CLEP scores were not included in my application, it was considered "incomplete" and I was placed as an alternate. After finding this out, I spoke with someone in admissions and they told me that I probably would have been accepted had it not been for my missing CLEP scores. Based on this, I would be a little cautious if I were you about confirming that they do indeed have your scores before the committee meets to avoid the same situation. Good luck!
