University Of North Georgia Fall 2016/Spring 2017

Published

I haven't seen a group for the upcoming Fall 2016 - Spring 2017 applicants for UNG. I know they have over 650 that applied this coming up year. Does anyone have any information they might want to share? HESI scores and GPA?

Did any of you have classes left to take after this semester? I know with the ASN program they seemed to accept those closer to being done with pre-reqs and the BSN could be done the same. I only have 2 classes left that I finish this semester and I'm completely done; I took NURS 2603 the first spring semester it was offered. I made a 91 on my HESI and believe my GPA is somewhere near a 3.5.

I have 2 classes left after this semester and I'm taking the NURS 2603 class now. I'm sure they wanted all the science courses done first.

Yes and No. I'm currently taking classes that pertain to pre-reqs at other programs. I've finished everything required at UNG except for NURS 2603, since I'm not currently enrolled there. I was told they give the same consideration and you just have to have it completed by start of the program. But perhaps that could have been a half truth. They may only give a marginal number of provisional/transfer acceptances.

I only have NURS 2603 and Sociology left.

So I don't know if anyone knows about this already but I just found it and thought I would share in case no one did...

But if you go to UNG's nursing page that lists the different programs, there is myUNG link for current students and after clicking and logging in, you're directed to a "You're in!" page that has the 2015-2016 BSN handbook among other things! I've been trying to find stuff anywhere and finally did. :)

Thank you! I have looked all over for that information and couldn't seem to find it.

Please tell me I wasn't the only one to go digging through it hunting for the supplies list. :)

That's definitely what I did when I found it! I was Google searching for it and nothing would come up.

I'm so glad it wasn't just me.

Have you considered what stethoscope you're going to purchase? Littmann Classic is the clear suggestion from every blog, post here, etc. But a couple current nurses I've spoken to said not go that expensive yet. Wait until school is out and you are working.

I kind of want to wait. I think my 2603 class said we would have a day, orientation or something else, that let us try out a few different stethoscopes... but it was a while ago and I could be wrong. There's varying opinions on what will be comfortable to different people and I would love to try before buying something.

I may start looking for the shoes. My CNA class allowed us to have laces, so that's what I currently have. I also looked at the book list based on the classes at Gainesville going on right now and $$$ is needed, but not too horrible!

Does anyone know if we have to make a confirmation deposit sometime soon? Also do you know if there is any penalty if you confirm your spot, then cancel it later on?

Have any of you that were accepted received anything beyond the provisional acceptance email?

I emailed the department about this. They said they would email further information as time gets closer....
