University Of Dundee

Hello,

I'm wondering if any of you are familiar with UNIVERSITY OF DUNDEE (CELTIC SCHOLAR). I have been looking for a distance nursing program that will help me get my Bachelors Degree in Nursing. This particular distance program is based in UK. Looking through their website I find that this is the program that suites my schedule (between work and family). The cost of the program is not bad either, about $13500 for the entire course ( 4 modules to complete the course; each module is about 4-6 months long depending on your pace). I've also talked to one of their representatives but I'm still quite not sure because the fact that they're not based here in the US ( what if they're fake???). According to them they are accredited by NLNAC. NO CLINICALS, NO EXAMS, NO CLASSES/INTERNET. Only required is to complete a presentation paper after each module. Personal tutor is also available for the duration of the course...Sounds good to be true, doesn't it? I just don't want to be a victim of a scam. What do you guys think? Any feedbacks? Here's their website: www. celticscholar.com.

There is a post over in the distance ed forum that explains the Univ of Dundee program. take a look there.

It is the real thing. I graduated from there and received my bachelors degree. I am in their Master of Nursing program currently and it is wonderful. Go for it. I have been a nurse for 32 years so I did not need clinicals and I don't need tests! I have learned so much and get to read and write about what I am interested in. Go for it. I enjoy being a Celtic Scholar.

Hello! I believe you have me mixed up with another response. I could not find where I said "Just do your homework and be careful." I did complete the program and graduated last year. I completed 4 modules, Wound Management, Pain Management, Nursing Management and Infection Control. My employer paid for the program, about $6100. I found that the program met the requirements for my employer, The Department of Veteran's Affairs and I do not plan to seek employment on the outside, but plan to retire in 6 years. As far as recognizing credits from the program, I do not understand why they are not accepted. The program is NLN accredited and that is the same requirements of programs in the US. It is just "politics" like you said before.

Howdo you get your employer to help pay fo this program?
