University of MN CRNA 2019 interviews?

Nursing Students SRNA

Published

Hello everyone

I am wondering if there is anyone else who has submitted an application to the CRNA program at University of Minnesota to start 2019.

I submitted and received an email that they were reviewing applications and interviews would be the 3rd week of October.

I am just curious if anyone else applied, and has anyone heard from them to schedule an interview yet. One of the other programs I applied to extended an interview invite within a few days of applying. Not sure how long they review applications for.

Thanks!

Thanks for wanting to help. How do they conduct their interviews? What kind of interview is it? Clinical questions?? How best do you advise I prepare?

WOW, good luck to you too. How are you preparing? And when are you interviewing?

I graduated from that program, feel free to contact me with any questions!

Hey Jj, thanks for this! I'm not able to PM you so hopefully you can respond to this.

What's the interview process like? It seems like there's a 30 minute allotment for the interview, and I have no idea whether there's going to be a test like most interviews do or if they focus heavily on your clinical experience as opposed to your personality. Any insight is greatly appreciated!

When I interviewed and while I was in school, this is what the process was like

1) 20-30 min to sit with / meet current students. I found this to be nice when I interviewed so I volunteered to do this while I was an SRNA. You'd be able to bounce questions off the SRNAs that you might feel uncomfortable asking during the interview. You get to hear a student's prospective on the program, clinical sites, numbers, etc.

2) Interview with the faculty - when I interviewed there was no written test. They'll ask questions to get to know you and your experience. They'll ask about your typical patient, meds, etc. They'll ask standard CRNA school interview questions. This will be with the program director and some of the instructors. If you have any questionable grades or anything on your transcript, make sure you have a good reason for it.

For those who got accepted into U of MN, around what day of the month did you find out if you were in or not? I have an interview on the 11th of October and was wondering when I would find out if I get accepted/rejected. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
