Hi everyone!!! I am new to allnurses.com - I was wondering if anyone has applied for the Fall 2009 accelerated program? I have not been able to attend an information session due to scheduling conflicts. Does anyone know how many people apply to the program or know any "insider" info? I know that 50 people get in every year - I just submited my application last week for the early response deadline - good luck to all!!
Hey all!
I still haven't heard back and I am getting very anxious! My application was in on September 3rd, so I would think if it was rolling admissions I should be hearing soon since you guys all had yours in at the end of August. I emailed them today to see what was going on. I wish they would just hurry up!
Hey Paris,
Sorry I don't get how to reply to private messages. I have no idea where I am on the waitlist it just said do you accept it and so I did. I guess I can try to find out but I don't know if they would even tell me? Haha, thanks for the support. I guess time will tell, I just hate waiting...lol.
Thanks!
Hello Everyone,
I checked wolverine access today and I am IN! Thank god, now i can stop calling and harassing nursing school people. Can't believe they took so long, but now i can relax. I still have to take a bunch of pre-req classes, but it's all good. Congrats to everyone who got in and good luck to people on the waiting list.

I applied to U of M's 2nd career program in September (although my application wasn't marked as complete until October) and I just heard back from them today saying I was accepted!! I'm very excited, but right now I don't know if I'm going to be able to afford to go. I'm having an issue with getting in state tuition, and the out of state tuition is SO EXPENSIVE. I'm going to call tomorrow to talk to an advisor about financial aid, but right now I'm just happy that I was accepted :-) :-)
Oh, and in case anyone is curious, my B.A. is in Asian Studies, and my undergraduate GPA was 3.8. I have some experience as a CNA, but I had just received my CNA certification when I filled out the application so I didn't have any work experience yet.

I second getting your application in as soon as you are able. I submitted my application August 14th (only a few days after it opened up) and didn't hear back until late January. Hopefully the review process will go much smoother next year, but, if you wait till the end the spots may already be gone.
I also really agree with the essays. Mine were very personal (I chose the book essay for the 3rd essay) and I put a lot of effort in to them.
Good Luck!
