  1. Hey Guys, As the title suggests I am Indian and I got accepted into the Accelerated BSN program at Michigan. I am worried about telling my parents about my future plans. My girlfriend and her family are really supportive and so are my friends (for the most part). Just wanted to see what people have to say. Thanks.
  2. One of my buddies lived in island drive apts (http://www.islanddriveapts.com). Close to the medical center/Ingalls halls. the rent was high $800 for a one bedroom. I am debating either to get an apt close to campus and pay more or 10mins away (cheaper) but then worry about parking. I know that parking spots are around $50/month around there. hope that helps. If i find a cheaper/better place to live i'll post.
  3. Hey Mike, Thank you for the reply. Didn't see it until today. I found out that I got in about a week ago! Like you said I should try to get a part-time job or something. I am a Med-Tech, so i do work in the hospital, but I have no patient contact. What could I do that would allow me to do something in patient care before september? I do volunteer, but its not the same. Any other suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Good luck with your job and the one year old.
  4. Hey JustJane, Good luck with your application. I am currently taking Pathophysiology online @ washtenaw community college (wccnet.edu) and it will transfer to michigan. The exams/quizes are all done via home computer so you could be anywhere. If you have any question please feel free to ask. good luck!
  5. Hello Everyone, I checked wolverine access today and I am IN! Thank god, now i can stop calling and harassing nursing school people. Can't believe they took so long, but now i can relax. I still have to take a bunch of pre-req classes, but it's all good. Congrats to everyone who got in and good luck to people on the waiting list. Nitin
  6. hey parris, looks like only we applied! we should be admitted for sure...jk. i just called and they said that as soon as they look at the application they will let me know, even if i get put on a waitlist. so i really don't understand how they could not have reached people who applied in august yet! good luck.
  7. hi, i have applied to university of michigan second career program. wanted to see if any other guy's have applied? if anyone has graduated from the program any suggestions or comments? thank you.
  8. hi, i wanted to see when people applied to the program and if they have heard anything at all. i applied oct. 2nd and no info yet! thanks and good luck!
  9. Hi, Still no news. I might drive to ann arbor and findout next week.
  10. hi, i haven't heard anything from them yet. i applied about 1.5 months ago. they are going to select around 56 students. i have no idea about the points system, but i do know that they have rolling admissions starting this year. in the info session they said that gpa isn't the most important thing. they look at other thing too, but never said what they were. good luck with everything!
  11. hi, i just called ufm student admissions and they told me that it would be 8-10 weeks from when my application was complete. apparently they have just started looking at applications. also, i know someone who applied mid-august and got a waitlist letter recently. so good luck!
  12. hey, during the info session they did say 3.0/4.0 is recommended, but it is not too important. if people have a lower gpa and show potential in other parts they will look at that. this year they were going to have rolling admission so they were planning to look at the applications as they came in and not wait until any particular date.
  13. hi, i applied to the program 1st week of oct and haven't gotten any information yet. i did attend a session. they expected 250+ people to apply and plan to accept 56. good luck, if i hear anything i'll keep everyone posted. you can pm me if you like.
  14. hi, i was wondering if anyone has gotten any response from ufm ann arbor. i applied to the program a few weeks ago and haven't heard anything. when did you apply and how long did they take to respond? good luck to everyone!
  15. hello everyone, thank you for answering my questions, you all have made my life way easier. so i am going back to school to get my bsn degree! i live in mi and have a bs in micro degree already. where can i apply for 2009? i still have to take the prereqs so i guess msu is out. i was looking at wsu, ou and uofd? any other universities with an accelerated 2nd degree program in or around michigan (oh, pa, etc)? i have a 3.15 gpa, tons of research (3 publications) & volunteer experience.
