University of Miami Summer 2021 ABSN

Hey guys! I know it's early but I thought I would start this. Has anyone applied to this program yet?

Thank you! It seems that way, hopefully I'll find out by mid-February. Fingers crossed.

Yes! Have you received the "University of Miami Application Received" email as yet?

Yes, I received it on 1/12 and my transcripts were officially verified by NursingCAS on 1/15. How long did you wait after you received that email ?

OK so on December 1st I received the "University of Miami Application Received Email"....then on December 3rd, I received an email from Admissions saying they needed my grade for a pre-requisite. I had to wait until the end of fall semester to receive that grade. I submitted that grade to NursingCAS on December 27 (NursingCAS verified the grade on Mon Jan 4).....

Then I received an email the next day on Jan 5th from UM with subject "UM Nursing Application Under Review".

Then on Jan 8 I received the admissions decision.

So you may or may not receive the email with subject "UM Nursing Application Under review".....but in any case, I don't think you are very far from receiving a decision. Could be as soon as Friday!

If your application is complete (they don't have to reach out to request something)....it can be less than a month. I applied around November 27/28 and received my decision on Jan 8. Then again, my app went on hold for 3 weeks while they waited on one of my prerequisite grades.

That would be AMAZING if I could come as soon as Friday.  When I called to ask about review, they told me to wait until I receive the "UM Nursing Application under review" email and thats when I can begin counting down. Hopefully I'll get the decision three days later like you did. Will you be attending UM btw or are you still deciding?

Yes I am planning on attending. I am awaiting 2 more admissions decisions. But I am super happy to attend UM. I actually paid the deposit.

I think UM is a great school and I like the fact that we could be done in 1 year. 

Please come back and let us know if you receive that email.

Ah beautiful, that's very exciting, I am happy for you :))  and thank you!! UM is my top choice.  I'll definitely come back and post with my update.

Sorry for the late reply, I've been busy with school. I have no clinical experience, GPA around 3.9 for overall and for pre-reqs. I also had multiple W's from this Summer semester due to catching COVID. I thought that might bring down my chances but it didn't ?
