Hi Everyone!
I know that it’s super early, but the application JUST opened up this past Saturday February 1st, so I thought I’d start up a thread.
I submitted my application on the 1st and I’m wishing all of you the best of luck!
Hi again with another essay question LOL
All of my other nursing schools follow the general prompt of "describe your motivation to be a nurse" but this prompt says "describe your motivation for applying to the U Miami ABSN program and how it fits into your personal and professional goals." Did you guys dive really deep into U Miami specific motivation for this program? My essay for sure outlines why I want to be a nurse in terms of personal, professional and career motives, however, I'm thinking of just adding two sentences that address university of miami specifically.
Is that what you guys also did or was your personal statement centered more around the U Miami program specifically?
Thanks!

I also was confused by the prompt, cause it didn't exactly ask why you wanted to be a nurse like other programs, as you mentioned. I personally did a paragraph mentioning why I wanted to get into a nursing program/go into nursing. Then I did another paragraph stating why UM in terms of the program itself, location, and how UM was involved into my future plans and such.

After you ordered your transcripts to be sent to Nursing CAS, how long did it take until your grades were marked as "verified"? It says 2 weeks but that sounds a little steep and I'm hoping its sooner.
Thank you!
Hey,
Once you sent your transcripts and they receive and process it you have to review it on nursingCAS and approve it so that your application status can be moved into “verified.” As for how long it takes, I remember mine taking less than 2 weeks. I missed out on a school because I submitted the application and the status remained “completed” instead of verified and I had no idea I had to go in and approve the transcript entry. Make sure your application has been verified once you submit it. You should receive an email from NursingCAS stating that it has been verified.

So it takes a little less than two weeks for NursingCAS to receive all the official transcripts? I am wondering because I ordered the electronic transcript on there from my schools a few days ago and I was expecting NursingCAS to have received them by now.

If I remember correctly, you should be receiving an email within two weeks stating that it has been received and processed. If you don’t receive it try reaching out to NursingCAS for an update.

I am not sure if this link will help answer your question. Also try the live chat or call NursingCAS if you still need help.

How long after your got the "your application is now complete and under review" e-mail from U Miami did you hear about your admission decision? The e-mail says 2-3 weeks but that it could take much longer and I'm not really sure what to realistically expect.
Thank you!
Mine took almost two weeks.

I turned my application in a couple weeks ago and just received an e-mail saying that my application had been placed on hold? Im extremely nervous because my GPA is pretty low.. 3.1. Im nervous that this may the reason my application was placed on hold and they are just waiting to see the stats of other applicants.. Would love to hear everyone's thoughts, and good luck to everyone still waiting on a decision!
Hi! How long after you received the hold did you hear back on your acceptance? Sorry I think I saw previously that you replied on here saying you were accepted but I don’t see that post any more.
