Hi fellow classmates! Heres a new thread that we can use to update each other about the program. There is also a Facebook page titled "UM Accelerated Nursing Program Summer 2012" If any questions, ask and please forward to anyone waiting for their status or to those new students that will be starting the program!

Oh also... deposit is $300 right? My friend that also got accepted told me he payed that... I think last years was $500... Not sure. Let me know! :)

That awesome! I also know a couple of people as well lol. Hopefully we'll be fine with the advice of our fellow nursing friends. Are you originally from Miami, F.L? Will you be commuting from a long distance?
I hope so. I grew up in Palm Beach County...I live in Coconut Creek/Coral Springs area so I have a good hour+ commute. Instead of driving, I'm thinking about using the TriRail and Metro-rail. As we know Miami traffic is brutal lol.

Yea $300 to the University but that is later applied towards your 2nd semester tuition. Then another $500 to the School of Nursing I'm not too sure where that is applied to. I was originally accepted to their Spring 2012 program and I couldn't start at that time; in Mid December, they sent me all the stuff that I needed for January. I was thinking to myself "if I started in January how was I going to get all these things completed in 3 1/2 weeks? background check, new immunization, drug test, BLS CPR (CPR must be done with the Heart Assosiation or they won't accept it I'm going to MDC and pay $75 for the 6 hour course) so I asked them to defer my start date to summer....oh yea I'm taking you up on your offer of a school tour because I have no clue where I'm going lol :)

Hi Kamryn10! I wouldn't mind giving you a tour at all! I have a week off from work this month and Ill probably be doing all the necessary inquiries for school that week. CPR must be done with Heart Association and I believe it has to be the Healthcare provider section of it. If MDC has that exact class Ill definitely take it too.

Hello! I just got the letters today about submission of the $500 non-refundable fee. To clear everyone's mind, $300 is for the admissions office if you are new to the school and $500 to the Nursing school to secure your spot. Hope this helps!

it's due 2 weeks from when you received the letter, so 2 weeks from yesterday for you.
