University of Miami Accelerated BSN 2014

Hello everyone,

I am interested in applying to the accelerated program for this upcoming year (2014). I am planning to start my application within the next few months and would like to hear from those who have already been accepted or are filling out an application as well. If you don't mind sharing your overall GPA, pre-req GPA and any helpful tips you would like to recommend when filling out the application. Although I am not limiting myself to the U, this is the university I have my heart set on so any information is greatly appreciated. Just found out I got accepted to the summer accelerated program! Looks like it was posted on Canelink last week but forgot to check. Letter came today too! Does anyone know when we should know financial aid piece? That will likely be a factor in my decision to accept or decline my placement.... thanks, Sara

I don't believe financial aid will be completed before the program begins. I spoke with finaid dept who was very informative. I suggest you give them a call directly. Hope this helps!

I called the financial office and they told me what I needed to do. The school's financial aid won't cover the expenses for the summer semester so I might have to take out a private or bank loan.

hey everyone! i was also accepted for the may 2014 start. I'm coming from NJ. Received my BS in health studies last may. So nervous but so excited.. should we make a Facebook group so we can all talk there before we start? can't wait to meet you all! :)

I also called financial aid and they said we should get some loans offers after we receive the second letter of acceptance. Based on what they said we won't get any scholarship now because is summer but we should get some loans.

We should check maybe UM has a FB page for the Accelerated Program

I already checked they don't have one. It looks like past classes created their own.. I think we should all join on fb though it'll be easier to talk and a way to get to knoweach other before we start! I'll make it and post the link here!
