Hello :)
I am kind of early with this thread, but I am pretty excited about the possibility of starting nursing school in May! Anybody else out there considering UM's ABSN program for summer 15? Also, anybody that has gotten in the program if you don't mind sharing helpful information, please do! I will still have 3 outstanding pre-reqs that I am registered to take in Spring. My cum GPA & pre-req GPA without those last 3 classes will be a 3.3 for both. I think I have a fair chance, could be better! (and will be once I finish pre-reqs) But anyway, share your thoughts about this program if you are considering as well! & good luck :)
Also, the application tells us to: "In addition to uploading your CV/resume, in the OTHER section please upload a copy of your current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Health Care providers (BLS) certificate (front and back)." Are we supposed to complete this before submitting our app? It doesn't mention it under the pre-reqs, but I'm afriad we might have to since it's on the app. I went to the BLS website and they offer a class version and an online version. Has anyone else completed either of these?
@ambitious_shan do you know how they convert quarter to semester units?
I'm not sure, your best bet is to call the nursing department. That's what I do when I can't find the answer online! I noticed it can be hard to get through to an advisor, but the people who answer the phone (secretary I guess) usually know the answers to my questions. Hope this helps!
@krysty0214 Hey! I have my BLS, it is a pretty simple course. I would recommend doing it asap so you have less to worry about later! It is good for two years.
I'm also considering FIU AO (accelerated option) program, it is new though and that is only if I do not get accepted to UM for summer! But a lot of schools have Accelerated BSN programs in FL.
I am applying for the summer 2015 at UM too. I just finished my last pre-reqs! My overall GPA is a 3.47 and I have a pre-req GPA of 3.59. I got my BA in Management. Hoping my chances are good. But if I don't get in, I'll still be able to apply on time to FIU.. although, I think my chances are better at UM. Plus I don't want to wait that long to start! Good luck!!

@filmbuff. Did you submit your CPR certification along with your app?
