University of Memphis (LCON -The Loewenberg College of Nursing) Spring 2018

Hi I will be applying to the University of Memphis - Loewenberg College of Nursing for the Spring 2018 semester. Thought I'll make a thread for everyone else who will be applying for this semester and we can share updates and stats with each other :) super nervous because my stats are not the highest but was told it really depends on who all applies with you for that semester. Heard stories about people getting in with a 2.8 to a 3.2 so it depends but Good luck to everyone and God bless!

mine is 3.5 overall and my science is 3.0...

Overall 2.9 science gpa 4.0. I'm currently taking micro and one humailties class. I'm also so taking two other classes to improve my gpa. I don't really think I will get in this time around but it wouldn't hurt to try.

Ikr.. it's bugging me.!! I try not to think abt it bt then it's like how can I not lol.?! Bt anyway, I actually am not sure what my cumulative GPA is.. however I believe I have 2 As and a B in my Science pre-reqs. So I'm assuming I'm okay on tht part. The fact tht idk what my cumulative GPA is nerve-wrecking. I honestly just applied on a hope and a prayer lol. I am also currently taking Stats and Comp II so if I do get accepted it'll be contingent on me passing those classes.

That's really good!!! I could of never of gotten a 4.0 in my Science GPA! I'm sure your gonna be smooth sailing.

Ikr, im seriously thinking about persuing Baptist. By the time UofM is planning on sending out decisions I will have attended orientation, taking student ID picture and more. This all is stressful.

I definitely get it.. it's always a great idea to have a back up plan. I was also thinking abt applying to Baptist, if UofM doesn't work out.

Do you happen to know if they calculate our cumulative GPAs by all the classes we've taken thus far or do they calculate GPA only by the pre-req classes they require to get in.??

They calculate what they require. They do have a place on your student account where they calculate all, but far as admissions go its what they have listed.

Jailin, I go to Memphis now. It really is good to have a back up plan, but its just a pain to tranfser and then re apply to another nursing program. Each program needs something different it seems like too. UTHSC needs some things that UofM and Baptist does require. Memphis you don't have to TEAS but Baptist and UTHSC you do. Some need recommendation letters. If I went somewhere else tho, I would prolly go to UTHSC. I have heard some bad thngs about Baptist. PLUS its super exspensive.

One of the reasons I didnt want to go to Baptist. I would love to stay at Union but its always hooks and hoops to go through. Union requires the ACT. Ive been doing prerequisites too long to go back and taking a test. I hope UofM sends out something sooner than November. I've heard so many pros and cons to the few schools Memphis has to offer. I'm ready to just finish one of them!
