University of Memphis Fall 2014 applicants?

U.S.A. Tennessee

Hello. Will anyone else be applying to the University of Memphis for the BSN program beginning in the Fall of 2014? I recently submitted my application and I am crossing my fingers waiting for an acceptance letter.

I wanted to start a thread where other hopefuls such as myself could ask or answer questions, offer support, or just communicate with future classmates. The waiting process just seems easier when you are interacting with others that share your same excitement and anxieties.

Me me me!! Thanks for starting a thread! I'm finishing up some classes at Southwest and I'm really hoping I get that acceptance letter come early March! Good luck to you!

@memphismom: Good luck to you too! I'm finishing my last semester at Northwest and will be waiting impatiently for an acceptance letter. Have you already submitted your application? If so, did you get an email or anything to confirm that they had received your application?

Yes I've submitted my application! It was actually incredibly simple but I'm still a nervous wreck! And yes I did receive an email in my mymemphis account saying that my application was submitted successfully. I just can't believe it's going to be 30+ days before I find anything out! I'm still working on two prereqs and although I've called and theyve told me many times that it's ok it still makes me nervous. lol. I just have statistics and Eng 2 left for prereqs and about 4 more general ed courses. I'm hoping to get it all finished by summer so I don't have to take any GE's during the summers of the nursing program.

I was waiting on a confirmation that they had received everything. I didn't think to check the myMemphis account. But I received a letter today confirming that my application was complete. All of my prerequisites are done and I'm still doing my general education courses. So all I can do now is wait until after February 15. Good luck again!

I got a letter too! My husband showed it to me and I got so nervous! lol! Mine just listed the prereqs I still need to complete (Math and Eng 2). I'm taking my math now and eng in the summer. It says that I have until the start of the program to complete it so that is reassuring.

That's good to hear. Hopefully the next letter we receive will be an acceptance!

I'm apply for LSN Fall '14! I figured why not give it a shot….I know I'm a long shot because my Cum. GPA is only a 2.9 but my science GPA is a 3.6. Taking the TEASV next week….How much is the TEAS like the NLN (southwest admissions exam)? I heard a rumor around campus last fall that the Spring '14 class took all the applicants that met the requirements…..maybe just maybe I'll get lucky and this will happen for me! I'm also applying at Baptist and Southwest

Hey stranger!! So glad to hear you're still in the game!! You have so much determination I'm sure you will succeed!! Good luck on the TEAS! I decided not to go to Southwest so I didn't take the NLN. If I don't get into UofM for the Fall I'll just reapply for the spring.

But regarding the TEAS I felt the Science was absolutely the hardest part. It's actually the only thing I really studied. Do you have the review guide? I would go over each section and then research it even more (khanacademy.com is great)

I refuse to give up! I've been fighting to get into a program since March 2011….why give up now! I THINK I have a high enough score for SWTCC…Finally got my official Cum GPA which bumped my index score up to a 60….from what I hear that is a pretty good score for admissions!

I have I think 3 or 4 TEAS study guides…I heard it covers more A&P and microbiology The NLN was a lot of chemistry and physical science

@unionnurse12_Good luck on your applications and the TEAS V! I'm not familiar with the NLN. However, the science section of the TEAS V was the most difficult for me. Make sure you have the ATI book. It covers everything that is on the test but you will need to study the topics more in depth. Also, purchase the ATI online practice tests if you can. They were extremely helpful!

Which program is your first choice? Since I only applied to the U of M, I really hope those rumors are true!

Honestly, after 4 rejections and 2 waiting lists i'll be happy to get into any program!!! I've cried more tears and had more panic attacks over this 3 year progress but I refused to give up!
