Hey Guys! I applied to the UMD CRNA program to start June 2018. I just wanted to start a thread here for people to post any news that they hear about their application, questions about the process, etc. I'm also curious about what everyone's stats are, i.e. GPA, years of experience, certs, etc. Good Luck to everyone!

If may I say, I believe Spurs_up was trying to give us an idea of "good stats" that might put you a step above baseline based on the previous accepted class, but I don't think he was saying that having all of that is necessarily enough to get an interview.
While your stats may have been better than others on this forum or people you know, I think the admissions process is a very complex. I feel like a high GPA, additional critical care certifications, and high acuity ICU experience seem to be the minimum these days as I learned from this forum. Many of you are extremely intelligent and come from great ICU backgrounds. Now add in another 140 applicants who are just like that and I think the admissions committee must then also have to weigh in other factors that set you apart.
Other factors include recommendation letters (and I mean genuine ones, not ones that just seem generic), your essay, personal statement if you submitted one, your CV and contributions you have made to your unit/profession, etc. And even then, there is only 60 spots for interviews (from what I heard). So they have to use whatever methods they find appropriate to narrow it down since they can't interview us all.
Regardless, as ICU nurses and aspiring SRNAs, I know how much this must stink because we're all driven and hardworkers that put our all into everything we do. I'm genuinely wishing everyone the best. And as Spurs_up said "good luck and stay persistant".
