University of Maryland CRNA 2018 Start Date

Nursing Students SRNA

Published

Hey Guys! I applied to the UMD CRNA program to start June 2018. I just wanted to start a thread here for people to post any news that they hear about their application, questions about the process, etc. I'm also curious about what everyone's stats are, i.e. GPA, years of experience, certs, etc. Good Luck to everyone!

Does anyone have any advice for the University of Maryland school of nursing CRNA interview?

If I remember correctly that displays once you have submitted everything. That phrase will haunt you over the next few months. Your interview request will come via the email you submitted in your application. Be on the lookout for and email offering an interview with a few dates to select from. I would assume the interview request could come out anytime, but as I mentioned in an earlier post I received mine in October. I know the waiting game is hard right now, but soon things will really get hectic. Good luck to all of you.

here are a few hints that will help you prepare for your interview (if I think of more later I will post):

- Go to the AANA website and read up on current events and probably familiarize yourself with them.

- be able to speak to why you want to become a CRNA.

- know what a CRNA does (hint: it's not puting people to sleep)

- wear a business suit, this is your first and only impression you will give them, so don't waste it trying to make a fashion statement. Dress like a CEO, it will make you more confident.

- sitdown and write out some possible questions you would ask someone if you were the program director. Brainstorm through and develop a solid response. I did about 40 questions. Now the tough part begins, you will want to look in a full length mirror and start answering your questions. Pay attention to your posture, eye contact, body language, and try not to say "ummm" between every word.

Any insights on how to prepare for this year's CRNA interview? Are they clinical/personality based questions? Will there be a quiz this year like previous years? Thank you for all your help!
