University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) DNP Fall 2021

It is early, but Fall 2021 admission applications are now open. I start things fairly early. This is the only school I'm applying to. I am going the FNP route. I'll also attend their virtual application workshops coming up here in August. I visited the campus and spoke to faculty in the first semester of my BSN program and I graduate in December. I never see enough information about student life at this school so if you are a former student, how often were you on campus? If you are applying, will it be full time or part-time? What specialty are you applying for? I wish everyone luck.

Mine still says “Complete, Under Review with the Department” it didn’t change. Hope that’s not a bad thing.?

Mine still says additional review required. It’s been saying that for me for about a week or so now. I wonder if everyone’s status is different due to applying to different specialties? Maybe different people are involved, I’m not sure. 
 

I applied to Rush too and heard back from them a long time ago. 

msjean, mine said that before and then it switched to additional review required.

 

I completed my BSN and MSN at UIC. During my MSN program, I only showed up for exams and for adv. health assessment lab. Otherwise, everything is online. Not sure how the DNP compares. 
 

I’ll be working full time and attending the program part time unless something changes for me. 
 

Anyone else apply to the acute care program?

I apply the MSN program in UIC and I get the admission on 3/22.

I’m assuming you received your acceptance email from the UIC MSN program right? 
 

I have no idea what’s going on. From my understanding, they always went in order. PhD notifications in February, DNP in early to mid March and then MSN toward the end of March. Then finally the BSN in April. 
 

This is frustrating to say the least.

hi, Yes I got acceptance email from UIC. I viewed the portal status several times per day. Before I got the acceptance email, I also checked the portal showed that “additional review required”.  Don’t worry!! ?

Yes...... I only apply the MSN program. I didn't apply DNP. Sorry can not help you a lot.

just got email basically saying that I got in but they haven’t entered the official decisions into portal yet!! just heads up - she said they are behind ?

congratulations! I received the same email a few minutes ago. hopefully within the next 2 weeks, they will be able to send out finalized decisions to everyone. Wishing the best of luck to everyone!

I got the same email as well. Has anyone made a FB group for the dnp programs, varying by specialty?
