University of Houston 2nd Degree BSN Spring 2019

Published

Hello everyone, I'm not sure if anyone has made a thread for the Spring 2019 cycle application but here's the thread. A little information about me i graduated at the University of Houston Spring 2017 with a bachelors in psychology and minor in psychology. I'm seeking to get a second bachelors degree in nursing. This program is very rigorous and competitive so im nervous about getting in. I'm taking my TEAS by the end of June. Good luck to everyone!

Please leave any comments, concerns or any information so we can bond together. :)

I spoke to the assistant dean this morning and she said the admission committee is still reviewing applications and some applicants might not hear back until next week. I would like to assume that there will be more than one interview date since the deadline to confirm/deny the invitation is on Monday.

Wow, how did you get in contact with the assistant dean?

Yes it's for the 21st as well ala_alex

I was calling everyone listed under staff for the college of nursing and she happened to be the only one to answer the phone 😂

Wow thank you for the update HanHanD!!

I have another update lol. I just spoke to another lady who put me on hold to reach out to Tammy Whatley for me. She informed her that most of the invitations have been sent out but she is not finished yet. She basically said they are a bit iffy about some applicants because of their stats and they might need more info (such as updated transcripts) from other applicants.

Has anyone heard back this morning?

Thanks for the update hanhanD

I can never get a hold of anyone in the nursing department. I leave messages but never get a call back so I do appreciate all the updates. Sadly I have not heard anything today.

The most helpful person I have spoken to was the clinical facilitator. Would you like her number? She's very nice. She knows my full name now. I'm not sure if that's good or bad lol

I'm in the same boat. Hopefully Monday. This is honestly the worst thing ever.

Hello! I got a formal invitation on September 11 for the Accelerated BSN interview and was wondering how many guys got invited? Where are y'all staying at the night before the interview (if out of town)?

Thanks! I know they closed at 5 so maybe if we don't hear anything in the beginning of the week I'll try to call.

Got the decline email, sucks! 3.5 GPA bachelors in Biology. Not an easier degree. Orangic Chem 1, 2 , 3 including other ridiculous classes. 88% teas 93% on the hesi. It is unfortunate that they just care about your stats rather than what you actually have a degree in.
