University of Florida DNP Fall 2021

Hello there! I just wanted to start this thread to see if there were any people applying to the University of Florida for next fall for their nurse practitioner program? I am applying to the BSN to DNP specialty in Pediatric Acute Care. Anyone know how the current pandemic might affect the application process? Any current students that might want to share their experiences with application process, and the current state of the program? Thank you all in advanced, looking forward to hearing from you all and starting this journey.

That is true! I ran across a Debbie downer today that told me the market is saturated and nurses are returning to bedside with a ton of student loans. She also said she had friends that could finish because they couldn’t find preceptors. It made me really worry! ?

Oh my! I don’t think you should worry much. I don’t doubt her, as I can certainly see that being some people’s journeys, but that’s definitely not the case scenario for every single person pursuing this career. I’m originally from Ocala, it’s a small *** town LOL so I can see that definitely happening there ?

Yeah I’m sure people have trouble finding jobs but I also think a select amount of those people are selective with what jobs they’ll apply to/choose. I also think some are Debby downers yeah. And make it sound horrible when it’s not. Statistics on future need says otherwise.

Yea, I just checked last year’s DNP forum and they found out April 21. Last year April 21 fell on Tuesday (yesterday).

The year before they found out on like the 15th or 18th. So hopefully today.
