Hi everyone! I have recently applied to the University of Cincinnati FNP (online) Fall 2017 program, Did anyone else apply for this program? Did you receive an acceptance letter yet? Does anyone know somebody who has been rejected /denied acceptance to the program? What is the acceptance rate? How long did it take the school to respond to your application? I am getting very anxious!!! Please help. Thank you

Hi there! I am looking into the FNP program at University of Cincinnati. Did you hear anything back yet? Can I ask what made you chose that program?

Hi! I applied to the fall FNP online program as well. I paid my UC graduate app fee on March 23rd. As of today I haven't received an acceptance or denial. I emailed the graduate advisor I have been working with and she said my application was under review and it can take up to 8 weeks to hear back. It will be 8 weeks on May 19th. I did read on the website that they only meet once a month to review applicants and I saw that they extended their deadline from May 1st to May 15th. Not sure if that has anything to do with it taking 8 weeks to hear something. I keep checking online and under recent activity it just says "app fee received". I'm transferring from another MSN program so I'm anxious to know because I haven't registered for fall at my old school yet, while waiting on UC's response. I was told they accept 90 students each term, but I have no idea how many apply. I image a lot because of their great reputation. My supervisor at work just graduated last week from the WHNP program online and he couldn't have said more great things about it. His wife graduated the FNP program a few years ago as well. Please keep me posted if you hear something and I will do the same! I have 2 other friends who applied as well!
Hi! I haven't heard from them yet. They have extended their fall application until May 2015. I am assuming I won't hear from them for another 4-6 weeks.
Thank you NurseEmme. I haven't heard from them either. I was wondering about the application extension as well. I agree, as I was doing my research about FNP programs, I have read a lot of good reviews about UC. I haven't heard from them yet. I am curious about what factors they consider in order to accept students (GPA, experience, recommendations, etc.). I also want to know how many applicants they have. I am very anxious because I did not apply to any other school and if I don't get in, I may need to wait for the next application period or even try to apply next year to UNLV or UN R FNP programs. I will keep you posted if I hear anything. Thanks! Good luck to everyone who applied or who are applying!
Hi everyone,
Did anyone read/hear or know anything about an interview? If I am not mistaken I have read somewhere that there is one, but does anyone know when does it take place? who interviews the applicants? and what is the interview all about? .....as I am getting more anxious about the application response I have found some information that some people may be interested to find. Well the 8 weeks "timeframe" passed and I still haven't heard anything. I emailed my graduate advisor and she just said I should hear something "soon". None of my friends who applied have heard either. I know nothing about an interview. Maybe it's for the on campus students?

I am really interested in their WHNP program! Did your supervisor graduate with a job? I'm nervous about the job market for NPs especially WHNP.

That wasn't because he couldn't get a job in WH, he was offered a great opportunity doing home assessments for a great salary, so he's gonna do that for now. I don't know how the job market is for WHNPs but if that's what's your passion is then I say do it! Bottom line, as long as you're an NP you can get a job somewhere if you are flexible ( from what I've seen and been told) You can always get a post grad cert in FNP if you feel you are limited.

Hello NurseEmme,
I haven't hear from the school either. I contacted my advisor and she basically said the same thing, that it may take about 6 weeks. And yes, you are right, no interview for online progran applicants, it's only for the on-campus applicants. I will keep you posted when I hear from the school.
