University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) MECN 2024

Nursing Students School Programs

Updated:   Published

Hello everyone,

I did not see a conversation on UCLA MECN 2024. This is a topic for everyone who has applied to the MECN program for 2024! Good luck everyone, I am getting a little nervous. We should get acceptance letters by mid-February!

Hi all,

I got accepted into the program Feb 29th and they sent the email at around 11pm.

My stats: 3.6 cumulative, 4.0 pre-requisite (based on required courses to apply)

Did a lot like CNA work, office work at a hospital (I asked my hospital if I can shadow nurses), and some public health work. I don't wanna dox myself so I'm keeping it kinda broad but giving an idea for future applicants. Did volunteering as well (non-healthcare).

I think best advice for future applicants is honestly to follow the application guide for the program and make everything very cohesive. I had a really specific idea of what type of nursing/career I wanted to do/have and how UCLA might get me there as well as life experiences that informed that idea.

I wish more people spoke about the application process! So, I'm paying it forward. Good luck to everyone on waitlist and future applicants. To my cohort, see you all in September!

Congrats on getting into UCLA!! I've also seen you in the Fullerton thread and I'm currently waitlisted! Can I assume that you are declining admission to CSUF! Crazy because we both applied to the same exact schools LOL I wish I got into UCLA as that was my top choice! Great program with great opportunities. Congrats again!

@ssshhhoorrttt, sorry meant to tag in last post 🙂

Hey yall! Has anyone on the waitlist heard back about anything? Just curious. I haven't , and I'm assuming it's because I likely won't get a slot

Hey! I'm number 1 on the list and haven't heard anything yet. According to past years I don't think we should be hearing anything until after the deadline for people who were accepted which is the 15th!

Thank you! That's what I figured! I thought maybe we would get an update if those of us father back on the list maybe had moved up on the list, but doesn't seem like that's the case either. Good luck!

I haven't heard back either, but like Cass13 said I'm sure we will start hearing back after April 15th. Hopefully it's not long after! I'm sure this thread will become active again when people start hearing back about the waitlist. Good luck to everyone else who is waiting.

Not sure if this helps, but they scheduled a mandatory online orientation next Friday. So maybe there'll be more spots opening up for those who don't attend the meeting

Admitted students are required to let the program know by the 15th if they are attending. The Online MECN Welcome Orientation scheduled for next Friday is not mandatory. The mandatory orientation is at a later date. I'm sure waitlisted applicants will hear after the 15th. Good luck to those waiting!

Thank you! It's officially after the deadline, so any day now hopefully! There could be a chance for you @LA_, you never know!

I moved up 7 spots on the waitlist so those of you that were in the first 7 may have some good news coming your way!

How exciting! Good luck to everyone!

I'm off the waitlist! I was #5! Good luck to everyone still waiting ❤️ Thanks for everyone's support, this forum was a Godsend.
