Hello all!
I didn't see a thread for UCI MEPN 2022 so thought I would create one. At this point, the work is done and applications are submitted...but there's plenty to still agonize about (the 3-5% acceptance rate, for one). Does anyone have intel on whether there will be interviews, and if so, when they might be? The website says acceptance notifications will be sent "starting in March", but I haven't found anything else more concrete.
Thanks, and hi!

See.. I kind of thought the same thing plus I got rejected from their MEPN program last year so I was hoping they'd appreciate my persistence.. I guess not. >.< Looks like I'll just secure my Johns Hopkins acceptance instead... unless I hear from the other schools I applied to in the next few weeks. ?

I got an interview but have not heard anything. Should I just assume Im denied***

I work for UCI Medical Center as a phlebotomist so I'm thinking that might have decreased me chances of getting in their MEPN program because I heard that UCI doesn't really favor those already affiliated with their institution. ? Good luck and I'm very happy for those who got accepted. CONGRATS!
Working as a nurse ***istant at UCI Medical Center, I totally feel your pain ?

Maybe they really are just rumors then. Who knows, but hey, I'm really happy for you. Being waitlisted is still a big deal and I wish you the best of luck in moving forward to admittance.

I wouldn't ***ume and lose hope just yet! I'm only ***uming I got rejected because I did not even get an interview invite. All the best to you!!

Trust me when I say I know how you feel and how disappointing it is. Please don't think of yourself as a failure. You have worked hard to get to where you're at and you should be proud of the courage you have to apply to these competitive schools. "You must not give in to despair. Allow yourself to slip down that road and you surrender to your lowest instincts". Please have perseverance and keep doing your best! Life is a journey and you are doing well. Whatever happens with UCI does not dictate your future success. Your actions moving forward will. I believe in you!

@Imstressedlol I totally feel you! I have had radio silence from the two schools I applied to...not even a rejection (I'd appreciate some closure at this point). I've had a day of feeling the feelings, but now I'm looking ahead to other programs I can apply to, taking one or two more prereqs, and I'll just keep knocking on all the doors until one opens. Yes, it does suck but you're definitely not alone! SoCal is one of the hardest places in the US to get into nursing school.

Nonsense,
I am a UCI Grad and Postgrad alumnus. In fact, over half of the students in my cohort were from UCI. The UCI BSN, MSN, and MEPN programs tend to attract more students from different geographical locations, primarily because of the proximity to coast, climate, activities, etc. If there is a disadvantage, it is simply because of the sheer number of people applying to the program for those reasons, nothing else.
