University of California, Davis (UC Davis) Health Master's Entry Program in Nursing (MEPN) Summer 2024

Updated:   Published

Hi, I didn't see a thread for UC Davis's Master's Entry Program in Nursing (MEPN) for the Summer 2024 application cycle, so I wanted to start one to connect with other people who applied! I know people received invitations around this time last year to apply through the UC Davis Graduate Studies application. Has anyone heard back yet? Best of luck to everyone!

Hi everyone,

10 years of waiting to get into a program ended today! I was accepted off the waitlist. I love all of you, and wish you the best of luck on your adventures!

Took a lot of time to contemplate the numbers but more so was waiting for the financial aid package which only came out last week. For me personally the program cost + cost of living for 18months since I'd have to move from Long Beach just didn't financially make sense to me. Taking out a gran loan at 8% interest is a little bizarre. The other thing that kinda drew me away is that I know UC Davis is a really good school but I don't see why there MEPN program is twice the cost as UCLAs or UC Irvines (being in NorCal shouldn't make that much a difference). For context Uc Davis program cost is 130k the other UCs are 70k

Honestly, that's what sort of drew me away and I wanted to discuss with other people. Traditional nursing such as Sac State is only $20,000 while ELMSN was $120,000 and you're doing the same job as a nurse with the advantage of possibly moving into management.
Good luck with other programs and applications!

Yea the price is what def drew me away especially that it's 2x the cost as other really good schools. I agree with you that getting an entry level masters to just make the same as a regular RN due to lack of bedside experience sucks it just gives an extra step to go to NP or further. Similar to you I was looking at ABSN or traditional BSN programs as there much cheaper and you get the same starting pay. Best of luck to you on your future endeavors!

Hi everyone,

Did anyone else who is in waitlist, also got email saying that they may have a spot for you in the next couple of days?

When I got an email similar to that I was offered a spot the next day. Hope that's the case for you as well.

Is your student ID the same as your Kerberos ID? I got my acceptance letter today but didn't see a Kerberos ID. And did anyone have to resend their transcripts in to graduate admissions? Thanks!

No, you won't have to resend the transcripts. They will load up in the next few days from when you initially submitted your application. And no your student ID is not the same as your Kerberos ID. You'll create that in the onboarding checklist.

Hello all,

I applied for the 2024 Summer cohort and did not get off the waitlist. It was my first time applying to the program and as I am getting ready to re-apply I am wondering for those who have reapplied did you change your personal statements and did you chose different individuals to write your letters of rec? Any advice is appreciated!!
