Hello, I’m applying for the U of C degrees holder route for January 2020. Just want to say hi to other applicants. I applied on July 2nd and have not got any update on my application.

Specializes in ICU.
Just now, Samuel Nsi said:

No it's an A. 80-84 is A-, 85-89 is A

Not according to the Faculty of Nursing official grading scale

Oh my. I didn't know that. Thank you.

Thanks for your reply, I get an A with 87. Quiz 1 and quiz 2 worth 3%, but quiz 3 is 6%, I forgot that. I send my updated transcript, now the wait begins. Good luck everyone.

I just want to say hi to all the fellow applicants. I am applying this year and I just submitted the application yesterday. Have you guys submitted the course outline? I wonder if I need to send them all the courses I took from the previous degree or just the 30 credits which they will consider for the GPA. Now I am just impatient to wait until Monday to call them about this question. What did you do about the course outline?

Hi. I was there yesterday. I was told you only need to submit course outline if you are transferring any of these courses (anatomy and physiology, statistics,English and psychology (that is any art course)from a university outside Canada. If you took all those in Canada then no need for course outline. If you still wanna call UofC, call the enrollment office not the department of nursing because she ll direct you to enrollment. I hope this information helps. All the best.

I just spoke with Admissions and they are saying the GPA minimum is 3.7 for competitive entry for this January.. yikes is that high!!

I will likely be a 3.6 after I finish up the A&P prereq.. fingers crossed for a wait list spot? So stressful.

do you know if thats the initial cutoff and they will begin to lower it after? or is that what they are anticipating the final cutoff to be?

and is that for transfer or degree holder?

Degree holder. I am not sure now! I emailed faculty of nursing to clarify. My understanding is the gpa is based off of the applicants for that intake, and they haven’t stated evaluating applications yet for 2020 so not sure where the 3.7 is from!

So I just called too. I wanted to find out about my transcript. And I asked about CGPA. For transfer route its 3.8 minimum CGPA and for jan 2020 degree holder route its 3.7. CGPA of 3.3 and above ll be put on waitlist. V

So, 3.7 is the final cutoff for degree holder? and 3.3-3.7 will be on the waitlist?

or is 3.7 the initial cutoff and they will lower it as they go?

I am confused, I talked to them a few days ago and they said they haven't evaluated any applications and won't until late September.

"The cutoff is currently at 3.7, and it may or may not move depending on the applicants that we have this year. If it is going to be moved, I would guess that it would be moved following September 30th or so, once our faculty and Admissions has had time to evaluate all of the applications. For now, students who are below 3.7 but close will be held on a waitlist. If there is room, students from the waitlist will be offered admission."

I received that this morning from the Faculty of Nursing.

ohhh okay! it sounds like they are ready to admit people above 3.7 ??

I am at 3.76 and haven't heard anything
