Nursing Students SRNA

Reaching out to see if anyone has applied and received an interview. I have one at the beginning of December, they allow you to do it remotely which is a plus.

I applied as well. Here is what I learned by talking with the program coordinator today. She took her time with me and was very helpful.

They have multiple clinical sites: TX, AZ, CA, NM, and OH.

Their didactic learning is mostly online through a form of video chat "Zoom". Except their first anatomy course is on campus, I believe she said 5 weeks. This is different than their RISE program for graduate students. They also require 16 hrs on campus simulation lab participation each semester.

Their class size is 18 max. They plan on interviewing 60 people this year. They use a point system when evaluating applications. They give points for shadowing experience.

They are being re-evaluated by the COA in April.

They do require a "DNP Project", which starts your second year and a committee of faculty members help you with it.

They keep up with their students regularly via the online courses, committee meetings, and clinical sites.

I hope this helps!

Thank you so much for answering my post. This information has been very helpful! And best of luck to you!

I have shadowed but the nursing CAS application did not ask for any shadowing forms or mention it whatsoever. Did they say how they count shadowing? by hours?

Shadowing was not a requirement to apply. I think she meant it as when they look at their applicants, certain things (certs, shadowing, GPA, etc) will get points and then they go off of those for offering interviews. I put my shadowing experience in my resume when I submitted mine.

LARN, BSN87- I just got accepted into this program, could I reach out to you to pick your brain about it a bit? I have to return my response by Monday 3/6. Thank you so much!
